Substitute guard Steward will be out about a month with a medical condition known as compartment syndrome. The RS freshman has had surgery on his right leg for the condition. Compartment syndrome is an affliction in which increased pressure within a confined space impairs blood supply and could lead to nerve damage if not treated properly. He started the first three games but has given way to true freshman Anthony ''Humpty'' Hitchens in the starting lineup for the past three game. Steward is averaging 3.3 points. Steward missed all of last season with a hip flexor. Coach Dambrot said he expects Steward back for the MAC season, which opens Jan. 10 at Miami.

Arizona freshman Jeff Withey finally got his release to transfer Monday after it was initially denied by the school. Withey told ESPN.com early Monday that he had stopped asking for the release but then he was "shocked" when the school gave it to him. He said the signed release ends a frustrating first semester for him. Withey has now enrolled at Kansas and will be eligible midseason of 2009-10.

Senior forward Yima Chia-Kur, ASU’s leading returning scorer, is likely out until January while Arkansas State petitions the NCAA to re-instate him. Prior to the beginning of the fall semester Arkansas State determined that 24 student-athletes were ineligible because of incorrect academic advisement. The school made an emergency appeal to the NCAA and 23 were granted waivers. Chia-Kur was the only athlete not granted a waiver. Chia-Kur started all 30 of Arkansas State’s games last season, averaging 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds

Freshman guard Trey Finn is out for the beginning of the season and possibly longer due to a foot injury he sustained during a conditioning workout this past week. Finn will be out 6-8 weeks and the Red Wolves are looking at the possibility of redshirting the freshman standout. He was competing for minutes in the backcourt. 

Reserve forward Cameron Madlock has been out serving a suspension because he violated team rules. He averaged 1.0 PPG last season. Coach Orr said Madlock remains a part of the team but is suspended indefinitely. "With the semester winding down, we want him to focus in on his academics," Orr said.

Bradley's top scoring threat was in street clothes and sitting on the bench for the last few games.  Warren has been downgraded to 'out indefinitely' with a broken bone in his foot.  He is Bradley's top returning scorer from last season (13.2 points a game).

Bradley sophomore center Will Egolf will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee 11/29 vs. East Tennessee State. Egolf was injured in the second half after making his third consecutive start for the Braves.  Egolf is eligible for a medical redshirt, meaning he will retain three seasons of eligibility. Senior Sam Singh is a 5th year player who has overcome injuries and will take on more responsibility at the 5 spot.

Guard Michael Loyd, Jr. is bothered by a shoulder injury and is questionable for Friday's game against Rice. Coach Rose announced plans to redshirt the sophomore guard.

Freshman guard Chase Stigall will redshirt this season.

Freshman walk-on forward Emerson Kampen will redshirt this season.

Senior forward John Manley has not played this year and is out indefinitely with a back injury.

Western Carolina transfer forward Nick Aldridge would have been a huge addition to the roster after he posted averages of 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest last year.  However, Cincinnati head men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin has announced that Nick Aldridge is leaving the program prior to the start of the 2008-09 academic term.

Freshman forward Charlie Woods is expected sit out this season as a redshirt.  He collided with teammate Trevon Harmon and suffered facial and head injuries.  He said he still has some dizziness and has trouble remembering names. While he would rather be out on the floor, he's content to ride a stationary bike and dribble a basketball until he feels ready to put up some shots.

Senior guard Adam Gore is out until January with a foot injury. Gore tore his ACL in September and is expected to miss the entire non-league schedule. He could return for Ivy League play.

Reserve forward Brian Young has been sidelined with pneumonia and has yet to play this season. His return is questionable for Tuesday 12/30 vs. Toledo.

Sophomore DaQuan Joyner has missed the last four games of action with a foot injury and is not yet ready to return.  He will likely be out at least another week and perhaps until January.  Joyner is averaging seven points and 3.4 rebounds per game this season in the five contests he's suited up for.

Senior point guard and preseason starter Jocolby Davis is expected to miss at least the first month of play due to a wrist injury. He averaged 4.1PPG and 3APG.

Junior guard Rob Sisca, a reserve this season for the Stags, was a walk on transfer from University of Vermont, plans to continue his education at Fairfield and work toward a degree in communications. He saw limited minutes in three games this season.

Freshman center Brandon Davis never took the floor for the Stags. He will leave Fairfield at the end of the semester and return home to South Carolina where he is expected to transfer to school closer to home.

Freshman F/C Eloy Vargas underwent ankle surgery for a problem that began his senior year of high school and is out indefinitely. Vargas is starting to work out with the team and he is making progress. Vargas could suit up with the team and see his first playing time sometime around the first of the year.

Sophomore guard Adam Allen suffered a strained MCL in his left knee and his knee is coming along slowly. He worked out briefly last week but soreness has prevented him from working out since. Allen is becoming a prime candidate for a redshirt. Allen averaged 4.0 points per game and shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range as a freshman.

Walk-on guard Hudson Fricke is out indefinitely after he broke both of his wrists in a freak accident during a workout. According to FoxSports.com, Fricke was injured when a large, heavy ball burst while he was lifting a 95-pound weight. He has casts on both wrists.

Perkins has missed the last few games due to personal reasons and his return remains questionable for NY's Day vs. South Alabama.  Perkins had started all eight games for which he was with the team and was second on the team with 12.4 points per game. He was also their leading rebounder. Perkins had back-to-back games with at least 20 points this season and back-to-back games with 11 rebounds.

Soto transferred from Florida State last year and sat out the 2007-08 season. He fractured his right thumb while driving to the basket in practice last month and could return in January, in time for the meat of FIU's Sun Belt Conference schedule.

Moldoveanu has left the team. He was averaging 9.9 mpg in a reserve role.

Freshman guard Ebuka Anyaorah is out for the season following surgery to repair a stress fracture in his leg.

Ole Miss transfer Dante Curry is expected to become eligible for Georgia State's next game against Georgia Tech Wednesday 12/17.  Consider him probable to see his first action of the season.  Curry is expected to contend for a starting spot upon arrival.
