| 12/08 | 4:10pm | Jahvid Best | RB | Questionable | Concussion | Best was transported to the hospital after suffering an injury leaping high into the air on a touchdown run win week 10. CT scans and x-rays came back normal but he missed the last three games of the regular season. Sophomore Shane Vereen finished the Oregon State contest and filled in as the Bears' starter. Best is questionable for Utah. | | 08/19 | 5:30pm | Tad Smith | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Tad Smith has a torn ACL in his right knee and is out for the season. Unless he petitions the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility, his college career is over. The fifth-year senior used his redshirt year in 2005. Smith had been battling sophomore Anthony Miller for the starting job. He was primarily a backup last season and played in 12 games, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Smith's absence means Miller should begin the season as the starting TE with senior Skylar Curran and RS freshmen Jarrett Sparks and Spencer Ladner fighting for a backup role. |

Next game: TBA
|
| 12/26 | 7:47am | Mike Hartline | QB | Questionable | Knee | Junior QB Mike Hartline missed the rest of the regular season after having surgery to repair a torn MCL in his knee. He tried to play against Vanderbilt but could not find any sort of rhythm and could not play through the pain. He is questionable for Clemson (Music City Bowl) after experiencing swelling in the knee in practice (Dec 12). True freshman Morgan Newton will remain the first string QB during Harline's absence, with Randall Cobb subbing in during Wildcat formations. | | 12/26 | 7:46am | Corey Peters | DT | Probable | Shoulder | Senior DT Corey Peters is upgraded to probable for Clemson (Music City Bowl) despite a shoulder injury. Peters had a great senior season, as he was named to the coaches' All-SEC first team defense. | | 12/23 | 7:19am | Ronnie Sneed | LB | Doubtful | Shoulder | Sophomore LB Ronnie Sneed is battling a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the Tennessee game. Sneed is a reserve LB for the Wildcats. | | 12/21 | 9:26am | Morgan Newton | QB | Starter | N/A | True freshman QB Morgan Newton has been named the starter for the Music City Bowl (Clemson). Maxwell, the starting SLB for the Wildcats, recorded the single season record for most interceptions by a Kentucky LB (six). He will be replaced by freshman Ridge Wilson and junior Jacob Dufrene. | | 11/04 | 9:23am | Qua Huzzie | LB | Out For Year | Shoulder | True freshman LB Qua Huzzie will redshirt after having surgery on his injured shoulder. Huzzie has not played in a game this season despite being projected as the No. 2 SLB coming out of spring workouts. | | 10/14 | 10:24am | Jake Lanefski | G | Out For Year | Knee | Sophomore Jake Lanefski will miss the rest of the season with a severe knee injury according to head coach Rich Brooks. Lanefski is a reserve offensive lineman who plays center and both guard positions. Lanefski's injury will hurt the Wildcats' depth on the offensive line, as his injury is the second season-ending injury to a reserve offensive lineman for Kentucky this season (Marcus Davis was the first). | | 09/06 | 12:20pm | Marcus Davis | C | Out For Year | Ankle | Junior C Marcus Davis will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a dislocated right ankle. Davis was filling in for suspended starter Jorge Gonzalez. Redshirt freshman Matt Smith replaced Davis in the Sept 5 game against Miami (Ohio). | | 08/30 | 9:37am | Aaron Boyd | WR | Out For Year | Redshirt | Sophomore WR Aaron Boyd will be redshirted for the 2009 season. The reserve WR played in 11 games in 2008, catching five passes for 46 yards. Head coach Rich Brooks says that Boyd's maturity level is a concern. "In hindsight, it might have been wise for him to redshirt last year," says Brooks. | | 08/26 | 8:13am | Jonathan George | RB | Out | Ankle | True freshman RB Jonathan George will miss at least one game with an ankle injury. The reserve tailback had impressed coaches during preseason camp with his burst of speed and ability to make big plays. | | 08/25 | 5:48am | EJ Fields | WR | Out | Foot | Redshirt freshman receiver E.J. Fields will miss most of the season with a torn ligament in his foot. It was announced that Fields would undergo surgery on his foot. Fields sat out his true freshman year with a hamstring pull. He was expected to be "in the mix" for playing time as a redshirt freshman this season. | | 08/09 | 5:04pm | Jeremy Jarmon | DE | Out For Year | Suspension | Senior Jarmon has been suspended for the 2009 season after testing positive for a banned substance. Jarmon co-led the Wildcats in QB-sacks a year ago and was named to the 2nd Team All-SEC. Jarmon's departure leaves UK with a corps of very inexperienced defensive ends. | | 08/09 | 5:00pm | EJ Adams | WR | Out For Year | Personal | Adams has left the football team due to personal reasons. He played in 12 games as a junior in 2008, starting nine, and caught 14 passes for 180 yards. He played cornerback his first two seasons at UK before switching to receiver a year ago. Next game: TBA
|
| 12/26 | 9:52am | Delvin Johnson | DT | Out | Ankle | Johnson will not play in the Little Caesar's Bowl on 12/26 due to an ankle injury. The once key defensive lineman has seen action in only five games this year due to various injuries, so The Herd are used to being without him. | | 12/26 | 9:47am | Darius Marshall | RB | Probable | Ankle | Marshall sprained his ankle in week 11 and couldn't play on Nov. 21 against SMU or on Nov. 28 against UTEP, however he's expected to start in the Little Caesars Bowl on Dec. 26 against Ohio. The star RB has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs on the season as the focal point of the Herd offense. Martin Ward has received the second most carries but is yet to get consistent work this year. | | 12/14 | 8:03am | Robert Henry | TE | Questionable | Undisclosed | Henry suffered an undisclosed injury in week 12 and did not play in the regular season finale on Nov. 28 against UTEP. He should be considered questionable to go in the Little Caesars Bowl on Dec. 26 against Ohio. With top TE Cody Slate out for the year, Henry was elevated into a starting role. Without him, the Herd are extremely thin at the TE spot. | | 12/14 | 8:01am | Courtney Edmonson | WR | Questionable | Leg | Edmonson is questionable to play on Dec. 26 against Ohio in the Little Caesars Bowl due to a leg injury after failing to play significantly since injuring his left leg during Marshall's first game against Southern Illinois. Originally a starter at wide receiver, The Herd have turned to Antavious Wilson, Chuck Walker, and Wayne Bonner to fill the void and all three are playing well. | | 11/20 | 6:25pm | Cody Slate | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Slate has been lost for the season after a tear in his ACL was discovered following what was thought to be a minor knee injury. When healthy, Slate is the Herd's top TE, and frequent target on offense. | | 09/24 | 8:12am | Troy Evans | WR | Out For Year | Foot | Junior WR Evans will not play again this season after breaking his foot in week three. Evans, who provides depth in the Marshall receiving corps when healthy and also sees time as a kick returner, will take a redshirt and keep two years of eligibility. Highly regarded freshman Michael Rhynes seems like the most logical candidate to replace Evans, however Marshall may want Rhynes to keep his redshirt and look elsewhere for help. | | 09/24 | 8:09am | John Saunders | FS | Out For Year | Neck | Saunders was carted off the field on a backboard in week three. While he did have movement in his extremities and was able to give a thumbs up to the crowd, he is not likely to be able to return to the football field this season. Saunders had made 14 tackles on the season. Omar Brown is his most likely replacement in the starting lineup. | | 08/12 | 7:16pm | Josh Evans | OL | Out For Year | Transfer | Junior OL Josh Evans decided to transfer from Marshall citing personal issues as the main reason for leaving. Senior Landis Provancha is listed No. 2 on the depth chart although the Oregon transfer has no game action as a part of the Thundering Herd. |

|
| 12/24 | 7:36am | Jacory Harris | QB | Probable | Thumb | Sophomore QB Jacory Harris is bothered by a thumb injury that he suffered against UNC on Nov. 14. He will have to wear a protective bandage around the thumb during the Champs Sports Bowl on Dec. 29. Harris is one of the best young QBs in the country, and a strong bowl performance should put him in the early Heisman talks for 2010-11. | | 12/22 | 8:56am | Jason Fox | T | Out | Knee | Senior LT Jason Fox will miss the Champs Sports Bowl (Wisconsin) after having surgery on his knee. Fox missed the USF game with an irregular heartbeat, but this new injury does not appear to be related to the irregular heartbeat issues. The senior tackle made 47 starts for the Hurricanes, which is third most in school history. | | 12/07 | 10:02am | Eric Moncur | DE | Questionable | Lower extremity | Senior DE Eric Moncur is battling a lower extremity injury that kept him out of the previous five games. HC Randy Shannon, who confirmed Ojomo had surgery but would not disclose the injury, reiterated after practice that the sophomore was hurt "horsing around in the locker room." Shannon said Ojomo, who started three games last year and is one of the bright young stars at defensive end, is out indefinitely. Shannon repeated that Ojomo was not suspended for any reason. | | 10/16 | 12:28pm | Marcus Forston | DT | Out For Year | Lower extremity | Sophomore DT Marcus Forston missed the FAMU game and is out indefinitely. Forston missed the VT game (Sept 26) with a lower extremity (ankle) injury but returned for the Oklahoma game. There is a good chance that he will redshirt this season according to head coach Randy Shannon. Forston was considered the top defensive lineman on the Canes roster and one of the top DLs in the ACC entering the 2009 season, but he has struggled with injuries this season and has yet to record a tackle. | | 10/13 | 11:27am | Ryan Hill | CB | Out For Year | Upper extremity | Senior CB Ryan Hill missed the FAMU game with a shoulder injury and is likely out for the season. The senior reserve defensive back made five starts (in 13 total games) at CB last season, making 34 tackles. Hill has already missed one game this season (FSU) with a shoulder injury and currently qualifies for a medical redshirt (has only played in three games). | | 10/13 | 11:25am | Dyron Dye | DE | Out For Year | Lower extremity | True freshman DE Dyron Dye missed the Oklahoma and FAMU games with a lower extremity injury. He is likely out for the season according to head coach Randy Shannon. Dye is a reserve DE for the Hurricanes in 2009. His injury affects Miami's depth at the position, with Andrew Smith battling back from an injury and Eric Moncur also trying to fight back from a preseason injury. | | 10/13 | 11:04am | Jordan Futch | LB | Out For Year | Knee | Sophomore LB Jordan Futch will miss the rest of the season with a severe knee injury. Futch had started two games for the Hurricanes and was an important performer on special teams. Fellow sophomore Sean Spence will continue to start in place of Futch. | | 10/05 | 11:36pm | Shayon Green | LB | Out For Year | Torn ACL | True freshman LB Shayon Green will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL. |
Next game: Stanford vs Oklahoma on 12/31
|
| 12/21 | 12:00pm | Ben Lepak | C | Doubtful | Knee | Lepak is doubtful to play on Dec. 31 against Stanford in the Sun Bowl after suffering a sprained knee in pre-game practice. The walk-on has been starting at center due to a rash of injuries on the Sooners' offensive line. All-American tackle Trent Williams is expected to slide into his spot. | | 12/21 | 11:58am | Trent Williams | OT | Probable | Head | Williams is probable to play on Dec. 31 against Stanford in the Sun Bowl due to a head injury but will not suit up at his normal tackle position where he's an All-American. Williams has been moved to center to start in place of injured walk-on Ben Lepak. Oklahoma's offensive line has been decimated by injuries all year long. | | 12/21 | 11:54am | Ryan Reynolds | LB | Probable | Leg | Starting LB Reynolds endured a leg injury in week 12 and did not play on Nov. 28 against Oklahoma State. He should be considered probable to return for the Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 against Stanford. He is near the top of the Sooners' stat sheet in tackles. | | 11/22 | 11:42am | Ben Habern | C | Out For Year | Leg | Habern broke his leg in week 12 and will not play again this season. The freshman had been a regular starter at center. He will be replaced by junior Brian Lepak. | | 11/10 | 12:38pm | Jarvis Jones | OL | Out For Year | Heel | Jones will not play again this season because of a heel injury suffered in week ten. He becomes the fifth offensive starter that the Sooners have lost for the campaign. With fellow OL/TE Brody Eldridge also out for the season, Oklahoma becomes extremely thin up front. | | 11/10 | 7:36am | Auston English | DE | Out For Year | Ankle | English has a torn tendon in his ankle and will not play again this season. The oft-injured DE ranks second on the Sooners with four sacks this year. It is expected that sophomore Frank Alexander will slide into his place in the starting lineup. | | 11/10 | 7:35am | Brody Eldridge | OL/TE | Out For Year | Shoulder | Eldridge was removed from Oklahoma's week ten match-up due to a severe shoulder injury that will force him out for the remainder of the season. A jack-of-all-trades, Eldridge has served as both a tight end and offensive lineman this season. | | 10/25 | 2:34pm | Sam Bradford | QB | Out For Year | Shoulder | Junior QB Sam Bradford left Oklahoma's week seven game against Texas with a right shoulder injury, the same injury that knocked him out for three games earlier this season, and he has elected for surgery, ending his season and almost certainly his college career. Bradford is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, but now the capable Landry Jones is given the keys to the Sooner offense.
| | 09/27 | 10:49am | Mike Balogun | LB | Out For Year | Eligibility | Balogun is out for the season after losing his eligibility battle with the NCAA. His college football career is over. Balogun was the likely starter at MLB for the Sooners after Tom Wort went down for the season and the Oklahoma defense loses a lot of veteran leadership without Balogun. | | 09/12 | 9:18pm | DeMarcus Granger | DT | Out | Back | Granger is out indefinitely as he recovers from a back injury, According to HC Bob Stoops, Granger is "...a ways away" from making an impact on the football field. After being a starter in 2007, Granger competed in a reserve role last year while dealing with lingering foot and back injuries, the latter leading to surgery. He was expected to back up at the DT spot again this season. | | 09/09 | 7:58am | Jermaine Gresham | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Gresham did not play on opening night against BYU because of a knee injury and will not play again this season. The star TE has cartilage damage in his knee and needed stitches to repair it. Gresham will be replaced by the combination of Trent Ratterree and James Hanna. The 2008 first team All-American had 66 receptions for 950 yards and 14 touchdowns and is widely regarded as the best TE in the nation. | | 08/22 | 12:29pm | Tom Wort | LB | Out For Year | Knee | Heralded freshman Tom Wort will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL, providing another hit to the Sooners' depth at MLB. He was expected to immediately join the Sooners' playing rotation and contribute on special teams. Starting MLB Ryan Reynolds has been sidelined for some practices with a slight hamstring injury. |

He ranked fifth in
the Big East in kickoff returns, averaging 24.1 yards per attempt. He
also had eight carries for 61 yards and three receptions for 16 yards.
| | 11/17 | 1:59pm | Dalton Phillips | TE | Out For Year | Concussion | Phillips has been lost for the year after suffering a concussion, becoming the third Orange TE to endure a season ending injury. At this point, HC Mike Marrone is so deep into his TE rotation that Syracuse shouldn't expect much production from the position. | | 11/10 | 7:27am | Jonathan Meldrum | OL | Out For Year | Knee | Meldrum has been lost for the season because of a knee injury. The junior was an anchor on the front five having started all nine games at right tackle. Freshman Philip Thomas is listed as his backup. | | 11/09 | 8:48am | Cody Catalina | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Catalina was knocked out of Syracuse's week ten match-up due to a knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. Carl Cutler moves into the starting lineup as Syracuse is perilously thin at TE with Catalina and Nick Provo out for the season. | | 11/04 | 7:26am | Jared Kimmel | DE | Out For Year | Knee | Kimmel is done for the year due to knee surgery. The backup defensive end will likely be replaced by either Brandon Sharpe, a pass rush specialist, or Chad Battles, who hasn't gotten much work this season. | | 11/02 | 6:18pm | Mike Williams | WR | Out For Year | Left Team | Williams is no longer a member of the Syracuse Orange after quitting the team prior to week ten. No reason for Williams' departure was given. The receiver was tops in the BIG EAST with 49 catches for 746 yards and six touchdowns. Williams had a tumultuous career, being suspended for all of 2008 and one game this season. | | 10/07 | 12:16pm | Nick Provo | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Starting TE Provo suffered a knee injury in week five against South Florida that will keep him out for the season. Provo has made four catches for 55 yards on the season. Cody Catalina is the #2 TE on the depth chart, but he is also injured. As long as Catalina is out, expect Andrew Robinson and Carl Cutler to get more action than normal at the TE spot. | | 09/05 | 7:30am | Dorian Graham | FS | Out For Year | Shoulder | Sophomore FS Graham will not play this season for the Orange after injuring his shoulder in late August. He was penciled in to start at nickle back. He had been penciled in as the starting weak side linebacker heading into fall practice and left the team within a week of the start of training camp. The Orange have only seven remaining scholarship linebackers. | | 08/11 | 2:26am | Mike Mele | LB | Out For Year | Transfer | Junior Mike Mele has transferred to U. of Mass. He ranked third overall in tackles for the Orange after starting all 12 games last season. Syracuse was already thin at LB even before Mele's departure. |
