| 12/08 | 4:10pm | Jahvid Best | RB | Questionable | Concussion | Best was transported to the hospital after suffering an injury leaping high into the air on a touchdown run win week 10. CT scans and x-rays came back normal but he missed the last three games of the regular season. Sophomore Shane Vereen finished the Oregon State contest and filled in as the Bears' starter. Best is questionable for Utah. | | 08/19 | 5:30pm | Tad Smith | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Tad Smith has a torn ACL in his right knee and is out for the season. Unless he petitions the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility, his college career is over. The fifth-year senior used his redshirt year in 2005. Smith had been battling sophomore Anthony Miller for the starting job. He was primarily a backup last season and played in 12 games, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Smith's absence means Miller should begin the season as the starting TE with senior Skylar Curran and RS freshmen Jarrett Sparks and Spencer Ladner fighting for a backup role. |

Considered the third or fourth option in the running game, Williams had amassed 34 yards on 14 carries this year. | 01/01 | 12:46pm | Marke Powell | LB | Probable | Foot | Powell is probable to resume his normal role of providing depth at linebacker on Jan. 2 against Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl. catch in 25 straight games. | | 11/12 | 1:11pm | Rob Kass | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Fifth year senior TE Kass suffered a knee injury in week ten and is out for the season. As the #2 option at TE, Kass plays in big sets and when junior Kevin Gidrey needs a break. |

Thompson had been seeing plenty of action, compiling 20 tackles on the season. |
| 09/27 | 10:20am | Antonio Allison | DT | Out | Foot | Allison is out indefinitely after suffering a broken foot in week three against UNC. The sophomore was entrenched as a starter on the defensive line before the injury, which requires surgery. ECU has a number of options to replace Allison, including shifting to more 3-4 defense as opposed to 4-3. They do have decent depth on the defensive line however. |
| 09/23 | 4:02pm | JR Rogers | RB | Out | Knee | Rogers is out indefinitely with a knee injury. The senior does not contribute as a running back, having not taken a carry this season, however he does see action as a kick and punt returner when healthy. |

He tried to play against Vanderbilt but could not find any sort of rhythm and could not play through the pain. | 11/04 | 9:23am | Qua Huzzie | LB | Out For Year | Shoulder | True freshman LB Qua Huzzie will redshirt after having surgery on his injured shoulder. Lanefski is a reserve offensive lineman who plays center and both guard positions. Lanefski's injury will hurt the Wildcats' depth on the offensive line, as his injury is the second season-ending injury to a reserve offensive lineman for Kentucky this season (Marcus Davis was the first). |
| 09/06 | 12:20pm | Marcus Davis | C | Out For Year | Ankle | Junior C Marcus Davis will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a dislocated right ankle. "In hindsight, it might have been wise for him to redshirt last year," says Brooks. |
| 08/26 | 8:13am | Jonathan George | RB | Out | Ankle | True freshman RB Jonathan George will miss at least one game with an ankle injury. | 08/09 | 5:04pm | Jeremy Jarmon | DE | Out For Year | Suspension | Senior Jarmon has been suspended for the 2009 season after testing positive for a banned substance. Jarmon's departure leaves UK with a corps of very inexperienced defensive ends. | | 08/09 | 5:00pm | EJ Adams | WR | Out For Year | Personal | Adams has left the football team due to personal reasons. The star RB has rushed for over 1,000 yards and 11 TDs on the season as the focal point of the Herd offense. Martin Ward has received the second most carries but is yet to get consistent work this year. |
| 12/14 | 8:03am | Robert Henry | TE | Questionable | Undisclosed | Henry suffered an undisclosed injury in week 12 and did not play in the regular season finale on Nov. 28 against UTEP. He should be considered questionable to go in the Little Caesars Bowl on Dec. 26 against Ohio. With top TE Cody Slate out for the year, Henry was elevated into a starting role. Without him, the Herd are extremely thin at the TE spot. |
| 12/14 | 8:01am | Courtney Edmonson | WR | Questionable | Leg | Edmonson is questionable to play on Dec. 26 against Ohio in the Little Caesars Bowl due to a leg injury after failing to play significantly since injuring his left leg during Marshall's first game against Southern Illinois. Originally a starter at wide receiver, The Herd have turned to Antavious Wilson, Chuck Walker, and Wayne Bonner to fill the void and all three are playing well. | | 11/20 | 6:25pm | Cody Slate | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Slate has been lost for the season after a tear in his ACL was discovered following what was thought to be a minor knee injury. When healthy, Slate is the Herd's top TE, and frequent target on offense. |
| 09/24 | 8:12am | Troy Evans | WR | Out For Year | Foot | Junior WR Evans will not play again this season after breaking his foot in week three. Evans, who provides depth in the Marshall receiving corps when healthy and also sees time as a kick returner, will take a redshirt and keep two years of eligibility. Highly regarded freshman Michael Rhynes seems like the most logical candidate to replace Evans, however Marshall may want Rhynes to keep his redshirt and look elsewhere for help. |
| 09/24 | 8:09am | John Saunders | FS | Out For Year | Neck | Saunders was carted off the field on a backboard in week three. While he did have movement in his extremities and was able to give a thumbs up to the crowd, he is not likely to be able to return to the football field this season. Saunders had made 14 tackles on the season. Omar Brown is his most likely replacement in the starting lineup. |
| 08/12 | 7:16pm | Josh Evans | OL | Out For Year | Transfer | Junior OL Josh Evans decided to transfer from Marshall citing personal issues as the main reason for leaving. Senior Landis Provancha is listed No. 2 on the depth chart although the Oregon transfer has no game action as a part of the Thundering Herd. |

He will have to wear a protective bandage around the thumb during the Champs Sports Bowl on Dec. 29. | 12/29 | 9:52am | Eric Moncur | DE | Questionable | Lower extremity | Senior DE Eric Moncur is battling a lower extremity injury that kept him out of the previous five games. HC Randy Shannon, who confirmed Ojomo had surgery but would not disclose the injury, reiterated after practice that the sophomore was hurt "horsing around in the locker room." | 10/16 | 12:28pm | Marcus Forston | DT | Out For Year | Lower extremity | Sophomore DT Marcus Forston missed the FAMU game and is out indefinitely. Forston missed the VT game (Sept 26) with a lower extremity (ankle) injury but returned for the Oklahoma game. There is a good chance that he will redshirt this season according to head coach Randy Shannon. Forston was considered the top defensive lineman on the Canes roster and one of the top DLs in the ACC entering the 2009 season, but he has struggled with injuries this season and has yet to record a tackle. |
| 10/13 | 11:27am | Ryan Hill | CB | Out For Year | Upper extremity | Senior CB Ryan Hill missed the FAMU game with a shoulder injury and is likely out for the season. He is likely out for the season according to head coach Randy Shannon. Dye is a reserve DE for the Hurricanes in 2009. | 10/13 | 11:04am | Jordan Futch | LB | Out For Year | Knee | Sophomore LB Jordan Futch will miss the rest of the season with a severe knee injury. | 12/31 | 8:41am | Greg Hardy | DE | Probable | Wrist | Senior DE Greg Hardy has been cleared to play in the Cotton Bowl (Oklahoma State), which means that his collegiate career has not yet ended. He was thought to be out for the season after undergoing surgery on his wrist back in mid November, but the defensive standout has been cleared to play in the bowl game and is impressing his coaches. Hardy, who played injured for much of his final two seasons, is considered to be one of the better pass rushers in the SEC. He has 26.5 career sacks, including five this season. |
| 11/07 | 12:31am | Rishaw Johnson | G | Out For Year | Suspension | Sophomore RG Rishaw Johnson missed the UAB game to serve a suspension for violation of team rules. He has been susupended by head coach Houston Nutt for the rest of the season after missing the UAB, Arkansas, and Auburn games. Johnson's absence leaves the Rebels thin on the offensive line, as they only have three reserve linemen who are ready to fill in (freshmen Bobbie Massie and AJ Hawkins and senior Brandon Green). |
| 11/01 | 10:18am | Enrique Davis | RB | Out | Ankle | Sophomore RB Enrique Davis will miss at least one week after spraining his ankle against Alabama. Davis is the No. 3 RB on the depth chart. True freshman Rodney Scott will fill in for Davis. |

|
| 12/29 | 7:45am | Tanner Mills | K | Questionable | Hip | Mills remains questionable to be able to kick on Dec. 31 against Navy because of a hip flexor injury. Missouri HC Gary Pinkel has not yet announced who would handle the kicking if Mills cannot play because he's hopeful his top kicker will be ready. Mills is "giving it a go" in practice this week and sounds like a game-time decision. | | 12/29 | 7:45am | Jared Perry | WR | Probable | Knee | Starting WR Perry suffered a knee injury in week 11, did not play in week 12, and also sat out the regular season finale on Nov. 28 against Kansas. | 11/04 | 7:34am | Luke Lambert | LB | Out For Year | Shoulder | Lambert suffered a shoulder injury in week eight and did not play on Oct. 31 against Colorado. Lambert has a labrum tear with some dislocation, and has decided to shut it down for the year and have surgery. He cannot do more damage to his shoulder by playing, but would deal with significant discomfort. Will Ebner becomes a full-time starter with Lambert out. |
| 09/17 | 8:56am | Jeff Geddys | LB | Out For Year | Knee | Mizzou's special teams took a hit this week when reserve linebacker and kick coverage ace Geddys tore his ACL in week two against Bowling Green. He will miss the remainder of the season | | 08/29 | 7:05am | Blaine Dalton | QB | Out For Year | Dismissed | Backup QB Dalton has been dismissed from the Tigers following an arrest for driving under the influence. | 01/01 | 12:21pm | Russell Okung | LT | Probable | Knee | All-American OL Okung suffered a minor knee sprain in preparation for the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2 against Mississippi but is expected to play. | 01/01 | 12:19pm | Victor Johnson | S | Doubtful | Knee | Johnson did not play the final three weeks of the regular season and is unlikely to be ready for the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2 against Mississippi. | 10/05 | 8:31am | Jeremy Smith | RB | Out For Year | Shoulder | Freshman RB Smith suffered a shoulder injury during week five practice and will be lost for the season. Smith had a breakout game in week four against Grambling, getting the first 15 carries of his career and compiling 160 yards and a TD. After the game, HC Mike Gundy said he was planning to give Smith an increased role in the offense that has been without top rusher Kendall Hunter for the past few weeks, but now that will not happen. |
| 09/04 | 6:41am | Orie Lemon | LB | Out For Year | Knee | Lemon has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. The projected starter at MLB's injury leaves a hole in the Cowboys defense, however HC Mike Gundy is confident in his depth at the position. Donald Booker is Lemon's likely replacement having seen action in all 13 games last year and ranking fourth on the team amongst returning tacklers. Tolu Moala and Justin Gent should be in line for more reps on game day as well. |
| 09/02 | 5:45am | Jamal Mosley | TE | Out | Personal | Mosley is out indefinitely after leaving Oklahoma State for personal reasons. | | 11/17 | 1:59pm | Dalton Phillips | TE | Out For Year | Concussion | Phillips has been lost for the year after suffering a concussion, becoming the third Orange TE to endure a season ending injury. The junior was an anchor on the front five having started all nine games at right tackle. It is not known who will step up and fill the void on the line with Meldrum's season finished. |

The starting safety is one of Syracuse's leading tacklers and sixth in the BIG EAST in tackles per game. Freshman Philip Thomas is listed as his backup. |
| 11/09 | 8:48am | Cody Catalina | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Catalina was knocked out of Syracuse's week ten match-up due to a knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. Carl Cutler moves into the starting lineup as Syracuse is perilously thin at TE with Catalina and Nick Provo out for the season. | | 11/04 | 7:26am | Jared Kimmel | DE | Out For Year | Knee | Kimmel is done for the year due to knee surgery. The backup defensive end will likely be replaced by either Brandon Sharpe, a pass rush specialist, or Chad Battles, who hasn't gotten much work this season. |
| 11/02 | 6:18pm | Mike Williams | WR | Out For Year | Left Team | Williams is no longer a member of the Syracuse Orange after quitting the team prior to week ten. No reason for Williams' departure was given. The receiver was tops in the BIG EAST with 49 catches for 746 yards and six touchdowns. | 10/07 | 12:16pm | Nick Provo | TE | Out For Year | Knee | Starting TE Provo suffered a knee injury in week five against South Florida that will keep him out for the season. Provo has made four catches for 55 yards on the season. Cody Catalina is the #2 TE on the depth chart, but he is also injured. As long as Catalina is out, expect Andrew Robinson and Carl Cutler to get more action than normal at the TE spot. |
| 09/05 | 7:30am | Dorian Graham | FS | Out For Year | Shoulder | Sophomore FS Graham will not play this season for the Orange after injuring his shoulder in late August. He was penciled in to start at nickle back. Randy McKinnon is the likely recipient of most of the plays vacated by Graham, but Grant Mayes will likely get some reps as well. |
| 08/17 | 11:41pm | Derek Hines | LB | Out For Year | Left Team | JUCO transfer Derek Hines has decided to leave the Syracuse football team. He had been penciled in as the starting weak side linebacker heading into fall practice and left the team within a week of the start of training camp. Taking over the starting role vacated by Hines is true freshman EJ Carter with junior Ryan Gillum backing him up. The Orange have only seven remaining scholarship linebackers. | | 08/11 | 2:26am | Mike Mele | LB | Out For Year | Transfer | Junior Mike Mele has transferred to U. of Mass. He ranked third overall in tackles for the Orange after starting all 12 games last season. Syracuse was already thin at LB even before Mele's departure. |

Glusman won All-SBC second team honors in 2008 as the starting kicker, but this season has been one marred by injury. | | 01/04 | 7:49am | DJ Taylor | RB | Probable | Football | Redshirt freshman RB DJ Taylor will play in the GMAC Bowl (Central Michigan) despite a foot injury suffered in practice. He has been cleared to play and is expected to receive cortisone shots prior to the game. Taylor is a reserve RB for the Trojans. |
| 12/31 | 10:13am | Jacoby Thomas | LB | Out | Foot | Redshirt freshman LB Jacoby Thomas will not play in the GMAC Bowl (Central Michigan) because of a foot injury suffered in practice last week (week of Dec 21). Thomas is a reserve MLB for the Trojans. | | 12/31 | 10:10am | James Searcy | DT | Out | Academics | Redshirt freshman DT James Searcy will miss the GMAC Bowl (Central Michigan) because he is academically ineligible. Searcy is a reserve DT for the Trojans. He had nine tackles (1.5 for loss) this season. |
| 12/31 | 10:08am | Chip Reeves | WR | Out | Academics | Sophomore WR Chip Reeves is ruled ineligible for the GMAC Bowl (Central Michigan) due to academics. He failed to pass six credit hours during the fall semester. Reeves, a starting WR for the Trojans, caught 22 passes for 363 yards this season and became Troy's biggest deep threat. |
| 12/10 | 10:36am | Courtland Fuller | S | Out | Knee | Senior SS Courtland Fuller will miss his final collegiate game (GMAC Bowl) after having surgery on the knee he injured against ULL. This was his first full season as a starter. Juniors Bryand McKissic and Willard Ross are potential replacements. |
| 09/15 | 11:45am | Tanner Jones | QB | Out For Year | Torn ACL | Junior QB Tanner Jones will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL in his left knee. Last season, he tore the ACL in his right knee. He was expected to battle for the back-up QB position behind senior Levi Brown. "He is just unlucky," Blakeney said. "I hope he can fight through it and get well." Sophomore Dantavious Parker will back up Brown in 2009. |
| 09/15 | 9:05am | KeJuan Phillips | CB | Out For Year | Academics | Sophomore KeJuan Phillips has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2009 season. Phillips was supposed to line up opposite redshirt freshman Bryan Willis at starting CB. He will redshirt this season according to head coach Larry Blakeney. Phillips' absence leaves Troy short on DBs, with DeMarcus Robertson and Jorrick Calvin being inegible as well. Phillips will be replaced by sophomore Barry Valcin, a JUCO transfer. |
| 08/22 | 10:03pm | Jorrick Calvin | CB | Out For Year | Academics | Grades dealt the Trojans a vicious blow Friday when cornerback Jorrick Calvin, the only returning starter in the defensive backfield, was declared academically ineligible. Troy's secondary was already suspect entering the season. They already had to replace three departed starters and was counting on Calvin's experience. The other projected starting CB, Bryan Willis, is a RS freshman. Their safeties, Courtland Fuller and Chris Bowens, combined for just 34 tackles last year. Fuller played in every game, while Bowens played in eight, starting one. Calvin's expected replacement has not been announced, but sophomore KeJuan Phillips was the second-stringer behind him. Phillips made three tackles and an interception last year. | | 08/13 | 5:56pm | Nic Riley | OT | Out For Year | Academics | Projected starter Nic Riley was declared academically ineligible and will sit out the 2009 season. He played in 11 games as a backup in 2008. 6-foot-4 redshirt freshman Kyle Wilburn will likely be the starter this year. Coaches like Wilborn's frame and strength and project him to fulfill the potential he has, but they probably weren't counting on him this year. |
| 08/13 | 5:53pm | DeMarcus Robertson | CB | Out For Year | Left Team | JUCO transfer DeMarcus Robertson did not qualify academically and will not play in 2009. He was in a 3-way battle in the spring with Bryan Willis and KeJuan Phillips, with redshirt freshman Willis emerging as the starter opposite Jorrick Calvin. No doubt Willis will get tested early and often as the young guy. | | 08/13 | 5:39pm | John Mark Patrick | DE | Out For Year | Transfer | Junior DE Patrick transferred to University of South Alabama. He was buried on the 2009 Trojan defensive end depth chart. |
