Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
08/3010:54pmRyan BainDT Questionable BackSenior Ryan Bain has been having back problems and is questionable for the season opener. On the three-man line, Almondo Sewell is a sure starter and players such as Dan Marcoux, James Harvey, Deni Odofin and Hasan Hazime will get plenty of playing time. Bain, a transfer from Iowa who did not play last year, is a wild card in the mix if he can get healthy.
08/3010:50pmDale MartinRB Questionable AchillesSophomore Dale Martin tore his Achilles tendon in the spring and is questionable to play in the season opener. One report indicates that he was to share the bulk of the carries this year with senior Alex Allen, but with both not 100% going into the opener, RS freshman DeVoe Torrence may be a big part of the Zips offense.
08/3010:47pmAlex AllenRB Probable HipSenior RB Alex Allen broke his hip last year and is still not fully recovered. He is listed as probable for the season opener although he may not be 100%. Allen is expected to share the bulk of the 2008 RB carries with sophomore Dale Martin.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/126:58amMark IngramRB Probable FluSophomore RB Mark Ingram returned to practice on Sept 10, and head coach Nick Saban expects him to play against Florida International on Sept 12.  Saban also says that true freshman Trent Richardson will see "a lot" of playing time, so expect to see Ingram received a limited number of carries against Florida International on Sept 12.  Against Virginia Tech, Ingram led the Crimson Tide in rushing with 150 yards on 26 carries (5.8 ypc).
09/1010:27pmChris JordanLB Questionable FluSophomore LB Chris Jordan is the latest Crimson Tide flu victim.  After missing practice on Sept 10, the reserve MLB's status for the Sept 12 game against Florida International is unknown.  Jordan recorded three tackles as a true freshman in 2008.
09/1010:24pmBrandon DeaderickDE Questionable PersonalSenior DE Brandon Deaderick is questionable for the Sept 12 game against Florida International while tending to personal matters (death in the family).  Deaderick has missed practice since Monday (Sept 7), but head coach Nick Saban insists that the starting DE's absence is excused.  Saban says that he expects to see Deaderick back with the team on Sept 11.  Despite getting shot in the forearm the week of the Virginia Tech game, Deaderick saw limited action on Sept 5 against the Hokies.  If he does not play Sept 12, his likely replacement would be junior Luther Davis.
09/108:47amDre KirkpatrickCB Probable Pulled muscleTrue freshman CB Dre Kirkpatrick did not play against Virginia Tech on Sept 5, but he is available for the Sept 12 against Florida International.  The highly sought-after CB is expected to receive lots of playing time despite being in a crowded defensive backfield if healthy (No.2 LCB).  According to head coach Nick Saban, Kirkpatrick has to "earn it [playing time]", as he is not currently listed in the top 5 or 6 DBs in the rotation.
09/107:57amStar JacksonQB Probable FluRedshirt freshman QB Star Jackson is recovering from the flu after being quarantined from his teammates (except roommate Mark Ingram, who also has the virus) for three days.  His status for the Sept 12 game against Florida International is probable.
09/0611:29amJerrell HarrisLB Doubtful EligibilitySophomore SLB Jerrell Harris did not play Sept 5 game against Virginia Tech due to a pending NCAA decision on his eligibility.  His status for the Sept 12 game against Florida International is unknown.  Harris received a laptop from Auburn booster Curtis Anderson, the same man who paid for a fishing trip for fellow Alabama sophomores Mark Ingram and Julio Jones.  Harris, a reserve SLB (No. 2 on the depth chart), played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2008.

08/265:54amJennings HesterLB Out For Year Medical scholarshipSophomore reserve MLB Jennings Hester will receive a medical scholarship.  The No.4 MLB's absence leaves Alabama with no depth at the MLB position.
08/265:52amEvan CardwellC Out For Year Medical scholarshipReserve center Evan Cardwell was placed on medical scholarship.  The senior was slated as the No.3 center on the depth chart.  Cardwell made seven starts during his Crimson Tide career.
08/265:44amCharlie HiggenbothamLB Out For Year TransferJunior MLB Charlie Higgenbotham will transfer to South Alabama.  The reserve MLB (No.2 on depth chart) recorded four tackles in 2008.  Higgenbotham's departure leaves the Crimson Tide without much depth at the MLB position.
08/265:41amChris JacksonWR Out For Year TransferSophomore WR Chris Jackson will transfer to Georgia Tech.  The reserve WR moved from DB, where he made six tackles as a true freshman in 2008.  As a wide receiver, Jackson was slated to be third-string behind Marquis Maze and Brandon Gibson.
08/174:37pmBrandon FanneyLB Out For Year TransferFanney has been granted permission to transfer from UA. The 2008 starter was third on the team with 66 tackles - nine for a loss. With Fanney's departure look for senior Eryk Anders to take over the starting job.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/077:30pmRob GronkowskiTE Doubtful BackJunior Rob Gronkowski sat out the season opener after missing all of preseason camp with a back injury. His status for week two vs. Northern Arizona is doubtful. While he might see some action during practices this week, the most probable scenario is that he'll rest this weekend so he can be as healthy as possible for the Sept. 19 game at Iowa.
08/091:38amScott SmithDE Out For Year Kicked Off TeamSmith's scholarship has not been renewed and he is no longer on the football team. The sophomore reserve transferred from Cal a year ago and will not play in 2009.
08/091:34amKaniela TuipulotuDT Out For Year TransferTuipulotu will transfer from Arizona to Hawaii. He started seven games in 2008 for the Wildcats but wants to be closer to home. He was listed as the No. 2 DT for 2009 as senior Earl Mitchell has a lock on the starting job.

08/277:09pmJames BrooksDE Out SuspensionSophomore DE James Brooks will sat out the first three games of the season due to a violation of team rules. Brooks has been low on the preseason camp depth chart after coming out of spring practice on the first team. The main candidates to start at end opposite senior Dexter Davis are JUCO transfer Dean DeLeone and sophomore Jamaar Jarrett.
08/186:34pmOsahon IraborDB Out For Year ThumbRecruit Osahon Irabor is expected to miss the entire season after having right thumb surgery. He was not listed on the Sun Devils' depth chart.
08/186:32pmBrandon SmithWR Out KneeReserve receiver Brandon Smith suffered what could be a serious knee injury last week. Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/0910:02amLondon CrawfordWR Out CollarboneSenior WR London Crawford will miss 4-6 weeks after breaking his collarbone against Missouri State on Sept 5.  The first-string receiver started in 11 games in 2008 and was a starter in the opener.  Crawford recorded two catches for 44 yards against Missouri State.  It is not known how Crawford's injury will affect Arkansas, as the Razorbacks have one of the deepest receiving corps in the SEC.  Thirteen different players caught passes during the Sept 5 season opener.
09/027:33amJohn HendersonDT Out For Year TransferJunior NT John Henderson has signed a letter of intent with Southern Mississippi.  The former JUCO transfer had originally signed with Arkansas but was granted a release.  Henderson was listed as the No. 3 NT on the Razorbacks depth chart.

08/266:14amIsaac MadisonCB Out For Year Torn ACLStarting CB Isaac Madison is out for the season with a torn ACL (Aug 17).  The junior starter at RCB was second on the team last season with 7 passes broken up and also recorded 38 tackles and 1 interception.  Sophomore Greg Gatson immediately replaced Madison, but true freshmen Darius Winston (No. 2 RCB) and David Gordon (No. 3 LCB) are receiving what would be Madison's reps in practice.
08/221:14pmLucas MillerWR Out CollarboneSenior receiver Lucas Miller went down with a broken collar bone and will be out four to six weeks. His absence hits the Razorbacks' depth a little as he was to be part of the receiving rotation, although not a starter.
08/095:25pmKhiry BattleLB Out For Year DismissedBackup LB Battle has been dismissed from the football team after being arrested twice within the span of seven weeks. The sophomore's vacated No. 2 MLB job will most likely be filled by junior Jermaine Love who has nine tackles in two seasons.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes

08/136:21pmJarriel NormanWR Out For Year DismissedProjected starting receiver Jarriel Norman was booted from the team for conduct detrimental to the team. The senior had one start last year and had an impressive average of 16.4 yards per catch. Outside of senior Jahbari McLennan the Red Wolves have few players with much playing time under their belt.
08/136:15pmPaul StephensCB Out For Year DismissedSenior defensive back Paul Stephens was dismissed from Red Wolves football after his arrest for breaking and entering. He was expected to compete with senior Cordarious Mingo for a starting job in 2009.
08/136:14pmLeroy TrahanDB Out For Year DismissedJunior DB Leroy Trahan was dismissed from the team due to conduct detrimental to the team. He was not likely to get much playing time in 2009 as he was buried on the depth chart.
Army Black Knights
Next game: Ball State at Army on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/128:25pmTrent SteelmanQB Probable RibsStarting QB Steelman, the first freshman to start at Army in over 50 years, was limited on Saturday Sept. 12 against Duke due to an injury to his ribs.  Consider him probable to play heading into week three, but his role is clearly TBD.  Junior QB Chip Bowden, the starter in 2008, had been taking the bulk of the first team reps in practice, but it was Carson Williams who saw the game day snaps when Steelman was out.
09/118:05amFritz BentlerOL Questionable FootBentler is nearing a return from a foot injury but he remains a question mark for the Black Knights home opener against Duke on Saturday Sept. 12.  Bentler provides depth at left tackle when healthy.
Auburn Tigers
Next game: West Virginia at Auburn on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/1010:32pmEric SmithRB Probable ConductSophomore RB Eric Smith returned to practice earlier this week and is expected to play against Mississippi State on Sept 12.  Head coach Gene Chizik cleared Smith to play on Sept 9.  Smith was arrested on August 21 for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.  The No. 4 RB on the depth chart made 1 start as a true freshman and amassed 83 total yards in 2008.
09/1010:09pmEltoro FreemanLB Questionable HamstringJC transfer Eltoro Freeman is nursing a sore hamstring.  Freeman did not play Sept 5 against LA Tech and his status for the Sept 12 game against Mississippi State is unknown.  ``It's been one of those situations where it's looked like he's close...but we don't want to have him go out there too early and he misses another three weeks or a month,'' Chizik said.
08/287:25amMontez BillingsWR Out AcademicSenior WR Montez Billings will be suspended for the first four games of the season.  As the leading returning receiver (24 receptions, 227 receiving yards in 2008), Billings was expected to start again this season and vie for the top receiver slot.  "This is unfortunate for Montez, but we've exhausted all avenues to get him on the field as soon as possible," Auburn senior associate athletic director Rich McGlynn said in a statement. "While we don't necessarily agree with the NCAA's ruling, we have to respect and abide by their decision."
08/266:27amRudy OdomG Out For Year Left teamSenior RG Rudy Odom left the team for the second time this year.  The No. 2 RG on the depth chart played in two games last season while struggling through various injuries.
08/2212:44pmTim HawthorneWR Out FootJunior receiver Tim Hawthorne is still recovering from a broken foot in July and is expected to miss at least the first four games of the season. The Tigers had high hopes for Hawthorne as he emerged as the No. 1 receiving threat in the spring. Junior Terrell Zachery, sophomore Darvin Adams and senior Montez Billings are currently the frontrunners to start.
08/2212:40pmMichael McNeilDB Out LegJunior Mike McNeil is still rehabbing from a broken leg and probably will not be ready until midseason. Freshman Daren Bates has made a favorable impression in each of the team's first two scrimmages and it looks like HC Chizik has found the player who will step up in McNeil's absence.
08/2212:04pmAairon SavageDB Out For Year AchillesProjected starter Aairon Savage tore his Achilles and is out for the season.
08/095:45pmChristian ThompsonS Out For Year Left TeamSophomore safety Thompson has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Thompson played in 10 games in 2008 as a true freshman logging one tackle. He played a bigger role during the spring with starters Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil limited by injuries.
08/095:43pmMarcus JemisonLB/S Out For Year Left TeamReserve LB/S Jemison has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Jemison redshirted last season after sustaining an injury.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/081:52amMadaris GrantTE Out For Year KneeGrant tore his ACL in the first quarter of the season opener and will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks. The senior and team captain will petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility. After Thursday's loss, HC Parrish said Grant was the one player he couldn't afford to lose. Grant's replacement has not been determined. Sophomore Ryan Hartke, who had never played the position before, filled in Thursday night but was called for a holding penalty that nullified a Ball State touchdown. Freshman Zane Fakes, a converted running back, will compete with Hartke for the starting job.
08/132:07amDerrick HenryS Out For Year AcademicsJunior Derrick Henry was expected to provide depth in the Cardinals' secondary but is not with the team because of what coach Stan Parrish termed "academic issues" encountered during the spring semester. Henry finished 2008 with 42 tackles, but he had only 12 in the final seven games. While unable to play regularly on defense, he was regarded as a key performer on special teams.
Baylor Bears
Next game: Connecticut at Baylor on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/0712:03pmByron LandorSS Questionable KneeTop reserve safety Landor has missed the first two games with a sprained knee.  Consider him questionable for Sept. 19 against UConn.  With the junior out, the Bears are extremely thin behind starting safeties Jordan Lake and Jeremy Williams.
Boise State Broncos
Next game: Boise State at Fresno State on 09/18
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/048:02pmGarrett PendergastOL Questionable KneeProjected starting left guard Garrett Pendergast had arthroscopic knee surgery and was forced to sit out the season opening victory over the Ducks. The sophomore made one start as a RS freshman last year. Junior Will Lawrence started in his place.
09/047:59pmKirby MooreWR Questionable FootFreshman wide receiver Kirby Moore has a fractured foot and is week to week. He sat out the Oregon game and was not likely to see much playing time even if healthy.
08/194:54pmGreg GrimesDT Out LegRS freshman DT Greg Grimes will be out four to six weeks with a leg injury and will miss the Sep. 3 season opener against Oregon. The position was thin to begin with for Boise State, and it got thinner before the start of fall camp when HC Petersen suspended talented defensive tackle Michael Atkinson following a DUI arrest. Boise State still has two excellent, explosive and aggressive defensive tackles - Chase Baker and Billy Winn - but no proven performers behind them.
08/171:06amMichael AtkinsonDT Out SuspensionFreshman defensive tackle Michael Atkinson has been suspended for at least three games, HC Chris Petersen said. Atkinson was arrested in July on a DUI charge after a car accident. He also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Both charges are misdemeanors. He likely will be limited early in fall camp by an ankle injury (unrelated to the accident) as well. Sophomores Billy Winn and Chase Baker appear to be at the top of the depth chart.
08/171:02amAndy SilsbyFB Out For Year KneeSenior fullback Andy Silsby tore an ACL in a softball game and will be out for the year. He will help coach.
08/1312:31amDrew HawkinsQB Out For Year PersonalQuarterback-turned-wide receiver Drew Hawkins has left the football program and quit the sport because of a history of concussions. Hawkins sustained his latest concussion in a recreational softball game. He was slated to move to receiver this fall after spending his redshirt year at quarterback. The loss of Hawkins means the Broncos only have two quarterbacks on the roster who have taken a snap in a college practice - sophomore starter Kellen Moore and junior backup Mike Coughlin. True freshmen Mike Tamburo and Joe Southwick will compete for the third-string job.
Boston College Eagles
Next game: Boston College at Clemson on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/128:31amJames McCluskeyFB Doubtful AchillesJunior FB James McCluskey battled an Achilles injury for most of fall preseason camp and missed the season opener against Northeastern.  He is likely out for the Sept 12 game against Kent State.  In 2008, McCluskey rushed for 84 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown and also caught 19 passes for 123 yards.  Senior DT Brendan Deska could see action at FB during McCluskey's absence.
09/1111:19amWill ThompsonLB Out ShoulderSophomore LB Will Thompson missed the Sept 5 opener against Northeastern with a shoulder injury and will miss the Sept 12 game against Kent State.  Thompson is listed as the No. 1 WLB on the depth chart.  In Thompson's absence, true freshman Luke Kuechly will see significant playing time.
09/1111:18amKaleb RamseyDT Probable AnkleSophomore DT Kaleb Ramsey returned to full practice on Sept 9 after missing the Northeastern game (Sept 5).  His status for the Sept 12 game against Kent State is probable.  Ramsey is a projected starter at DT and was expected to ease the losses of B.J. Raji and Ron Brace to the NFL.  In 2008, Ramsey played a reserve role as a true freshman and recorded six tackles.
09/1111:16amRich LaphamT Probable MultipleJunior RT Rich Lapham did not play against Northeastern due to shoulder and neck ailments.  His status for the Sept 12 game against Kent State is probable.  Lapham is the No. 1 RT on the depth chart for the Eagles.  In 2008, Lapham started all 14 games and helped pave the way for then freshman RB Montel Harris to break two Boston College freshman rushing records (total yards and number of 100-yard rushing games).
09/099:26amClarence MegwaWR Probable FingerSenior WR Clarence Megwa injured his finger during the Northeastern game on Sept 5, but the senior starter is expected to return to practice on Sept 9.  Megwa is expected to play Sept 12 against Kent State.
09/057:33amIfeanyi MomahWR Out KneeJunior WR Ifeanyi Momah missed the Sept 5 game against Northeastern with a sprained right medial collateral ligament injury.  The reserve receiver caught 11 passes in 2008 for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns (second on the team last season).
09/057:16amMike McLaughlinLB Out AchillesSenior LB Mike McLaughlin missed the Sept 5 game against Northeastern with an Achilles ailment.  He will likely miss the Sept 12 game against Kent State.  McLaughlin is expected to provide stability to a linebacker crew that lost its leader, Mark Herzlich, to cancer for the entire 2009 season.  In 2008, McLaughlin started all 14 games for Boston College and was second on the team in tackles with 89 (53 solo) and four sacks.
08/105:33pmMark HerzlichLB Out For Year CancerHerzlich has been diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer in his left leg. The ACC Defensive Player of the year is two months into an aggressive chemotherapy plan and will not play in 2009. The cancer gives him a five-percent higher chance of breaking his leg. "If it breaks, the cancer spreads," he said.
08/105:23pmDominique DavisQB Out For Year AcademicsProjected starting quarterback Dominique Davis was declared academically ineligible and will transfer out of the BC program. The QB position in BC is a bit chaotic. There are six QB's on the roster, NONE of which have taken an in-game snap from under center in their careers. Billy Flutie has played college ball - at wide receiver, punter and holder - but he will only get a handful of chances for "change-of-pace" snaps. Codi Boek played in every game last year, including four starts - at FullBack. The other four candidates are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.

08/174:49pmAndrew BeamQB Out For Year TransferReserve QB Andrew Beam has transferred to the University of Findlay in hopes to get more playing time his senior season. Senior Tyler Sheehan has the Falcon's starting job locked up with a number of inexperienced quarterbacks vying for the backup position.
08/1611:25pmCalvin WileyWR Out KneeSenior wide receiver Calvin Wiley suffered a knee injury that could possibly sideline him for the season. Concerns are Wiley, who missed the 2007 campaign because of a knee injury, suffered ligament damage. Results from an MRI will determine his fate. The Falcons have three other seniors all with starting experience slated as No. 1's.

09/081:06amDane RobinsonDT Out SuspensionReturning starting tackle Dane Robinson has been suspended for the first two games of the season weakening a thin defensive line that already lacked a true run stuffer. Senior Kevin Johnson started the season opener alongside junior Anel Montanez.
08/2512:57pmJames StarksRB Out For Year ShoulderBuffalo's chances of repeating as MAC champions suffered a major blow Tuesday when the school announced that star senior running back James Starks will miss the season with a labral tear in his shoulder. Starks is a fifth-year senior and has no eligibility remaining. Starks is the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,140 yards and 34 rushing touchdowns. He has scored the most points (222) of any player in Buffalo's history and ranks fifth in all-purpose yardage with 3,830 yards. In his absence, junior Brandon Thermilus will start. 09/0910:26pmMatt BaumanLB Probable ConcussionBauman suffered a concussion but will return to practice on Thursday and is expected to play Saturday at Tulane. Bauman led the Cougars with 108 tackles in 2008 but only had two vs. Oklahoma.
09/068:46pmHarvey UngaRB Questionable HamstringJunior Harvey Unga pulled a hamstring in preseason camp and was upgraded to probable for the season opener but did not enter the game. BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said after Friday night's practice that the junior, who has undergone five major surgeries in his career, has a rotator cuff tear in his shoulder and will be out between three and five months. RS freshman Marco Thorson will take Speredon's place as the starter.
08/1112:13pmBernard AfutitiDE Out For Year AcademicsJunior DE Bernard Afutiti is academically ineligible to compete in 2009. He will remain in school and work on becoming eligible for 2010. He was primarily a backup last season and played in 12 games, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Smith's absence means Miller should begin the season as the starting TE with senior Skylar Curran and RS freshmen Jarrett Sparks and Spencer Ladner fighting for a backup role.

08/111:57amVidal HazeltonWR Out For Year EligibilityProjected starter and USC transfer Vidal Hazelton will not play in 2009 after the NCAA denied his request to become immediately eligible. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver caught 50 passes for 540 yards with the Trojans in 2007. Bothered by a high ankle sprain last season, he had only six receptions. Hazelton's addition could have given Cincinnati the deepest receiving corps in the Big East. The Bearcats still return Mardy Gilyard, a first-team All-Big East performer last year, and improving sophomore D.J. Woods.

09/118:09amMichael SipiliLB Questionable KneeSipili did not play on Saturday Sept. 5 against Colorado State due to a sprained right MCL.  While he insists the injury is not serious, his ability to move around is limited and might lead to him sitting or seeing a reduced role on Friday Sept. 11 against Toledo.  When healthy, Sipili is among the top linebacking options for the Buffs.
09/118:08amMatthew BahrOL Doubtful AnkleBahr did not play against Colorado State on Saturday September 5 due to a minor ankle injury and is doubtful for Friday Sept. 11 against Toledo.  The sophomore rolled his ankle in preseason practice and the injury is clearly lingering.  Bahr is being counted on as the "sixth" offensive lineman, meaning he'll be the first option off the bench at both tackle and guard when healthy.

Colorado officials confirmed that Simas will not play Sept. 6 against Colorado State and Sept. 11 at Toledo for "an undisclosed violation of team rules." Simas' suspension is significant because the sophomore has developed into the Buffaloes' top deep threat at its thin receiving position. Colorado's wide receiving depth had taken a big hit over the summer with the transfer of speedy wide receiver/kick returner Josh Smith to UCLA.
09/025:59amNick KasaDE Out KneeFreshman Nick Kasa will be out for at least the Buffs' season opener on Sept. 5 against Colorado State after tearing the MCL in his left knee. Team officials are hoping that the injury is not as serious as originally diagnosed but Kasa could be out for as much as 6-8 weeks. A redshirt could be a possibility for the Buffaloes' top 2009 recruit if the knee requires surgery. Marquez Herrod is expected to be one of the starting DE. Sophomores Conrad Obi and LaGrone Shields have the inside track for playing time, followed by sophomore David Goldberg and freshman Nick O'Neill.

09/125:00pmAdam HahnDL Questionable FootSenior Adam Hahn has not been practicing due to a foot injury and sat out the first two games of the season. Pre-camp depth charts had Hahn down as a projected starter. Junior Corbin Bryant and senior Marshall Thomas are the starting defensive tackles while sophomores Jack DiNardo and Niko Mafuli are listed as backups.
09/058:50amAlex DanielRB Out For Year AnkleRS freshman Alex Daniel will miss the 2009 with an ankle injury. The highly touted recruit was expected to compete for the starting job this season and was in the top three vying for the spot going into the 2009 preseason camp. Junior Stephen Simmons will be the starter and true freshman Arby Fields will back him up.
08/269:56pmChris JeskeLB Out For Year MultipleSenior LB Chris Jeske has decided to end his playing career after battling injuries for four seasons including back problems that eventually required surgery and also a torn ACL and meniscus. He appeared in three games last year, mostly on special teams.

09/128:54pmMichael FloydWR Questionable LegFloyd walked off the field halfway through the fourth quarter last weekend against Michigan due to a leg injury and did not return.  The star receiver was over 100 yards receiving for the second straight game before departing and should be considered preliminarily questionable to play on Sept. 19 against Michigan State.  Floyd is one of the top wideouts in the country when healthy.
09/128:50pmJames AldridgeFB Questionable ShoulderAldridge did not play on Saturday Sept. 12 against Michigan due to a sprained right shoulder that might even hold him out for more than one game.  He is preliminarily questionable to play on Sept 19 against Michigan State.  The senior, who shifted from tailback to fullback this offseason, had 3 carries in week one.  Junior Robert Hughes is starting at fullback in Aldridge's absence.
08/131:10amNate MontanaQB Out For Year TransferNate Montana, Joe Montana’s oldest son, has decided to transfer to Pasadena City College in the hopes of getting some reps as a starting quarterback to better prepare him for division one football.  He intends to transfer back to Notre Dame in the spring. Junior starter Jimmy Clausen wil most likely be backed up by redshirt freshman Dayne Crist.
08/131:07amJoseph FauriaTE Out For Year TransferSophomore Joseph Fauria has decided to transfer to UCLA. It appears he was suspended for the fall semester. Fauria had moved up to No. 2 on the tight end depth chart and that spot will probably be filled by sophomore Mike Ragone who made one reception his true freshman season.

09/121:50amBoo JacksonQB Probable ShoulderJackson is playing despite having a torn labrum in his right, throwing shoulder. "Boo is a very, very tough football player," HC Frank Solich said. "He's a guy who is able to play through pain. There are times when this injury flares up more than other times. He has been able to work through that." Solich must decide whether to redshirt Jackson if the shoulder affects his play. "From the reports we're getting, it is not getting worse," Solich said.
08/2411:18amMichael PhilbinOL Out For Year FootSenior Michael Philbin has a foot injury that simply will not heal and has been shut down for the 2009 season. He started eight games last season and his senior experience and leadership will be missed. The guard positions for the Bobcats will be manned by freshmen or sophomores with very few career snaps under their belts.
08/2411:04amCurtis MeyersDE Out KneeSophomore DE Curtis Meyers went down with an undisclosed knee injury in practice and is expected to miss the next five to six weeks. Senior Conor Reilly looks like he might get the starting job opposite Kris Luchsinger.

09/1110:24pmAaron GantDB Out UnknownGant has had arthroscopic surgery on an unreported part of his body and is expected to be out two to four weeks while he recovers. The senior is listed as a backup at safety and has 23 tackles in his three-year Buckeye career.
09/067:59pmRay SmallWR Questionable IllnessProjected starting receiver Ray Small was apparently sick in bed all day Friday and missed the season opener Saturday. The senior has returned 45 punts in his Buckeye career and is looking to get more playing time with the starting offensive unit in 2009. The punt return duties were taken by Dane Sanzenbacher (2 returns, 17 yards).
08/292:04pmWillie MobleyDT Out For Year TransferDT Willie Mobley has left Ohio State and is filling out paperwork to enroll at UCLA. He will have to sit out the 2009 season but will have three years of eligibility remaining. He considered UCLA when he was a senior at Eden Prairie (Minn.) High two years ago. But the Bruins were in the process of changing coaches, so Mobley chose Ohio State, a more stable program.
08/291:11pmMike AdamsOL Out SuspensionProjected starting tackle Mike Adams was moved down the depth chart during fall camp and it has been announced he will be suspended for the first two games of the season for unspecified reasons. Junior Andy Miller has taken over the starting job. Miller has played in 14 games the past two years.
08/138:18pmTyler MoellerLB Out For Year HeadProjected starting SLB Tyler Moeller will sit out the 2009 season. He spent several days in the hospital with a head injury suffered when his head hit the floor during a family trip to Florida. The circumstances are unclear. Senior Austin Spitler was penciled in as the new starter in the middle. Junior Brian Rolle and sophomore Etienne Sabino could fill the void. Sophomore Andrew Sweat and incoming freshmen Storm Klein and Dorian Bell could also be in the mix.

09/129:18pmDeMarcus GrangerDT Out BackGranger is out indefinitely as he recovers from a back injury,  According to HC Bob Stoops, Granger is "...a ways away" from making an impact on the football field.  After being a starter in 2007, Granger competed in a reserve role last year while dealing with lingering foot and back injuries, the latter leading to surgery.  He was expected to back up at the DT spot again this season.
09/129:18pmMike BalogunLB Out EligibilityBalogun is out indefinitely.  The senior is not injured and can return as soon as allowed, however Oklahoma is unsure when that might be.  Consider the linebacker questionable for Saturday Sept. 12 against Idaho State.  Balogun had hoped to be eligible for all games this year, but the process of proving that he did not play semi-pro football after his 21st birthday is dragging on longer than expected.  HC Bob Stoops is not involved in the proceedings and calmly stated recently that "there's a whole bunch of guys that could play in there."  In six starts last year, Ryan Reynolds had 44 tackles before going down with a season-ending injury. He is likely the starter at MLB, though after Tom Wort recently went down for the season, Balogun's eligibility became more of an issue for the Sooners, suddenly lacking veteran leadership at the linebacker position.
09/097:58amJermaine GreshamTE Out For Year KneeGresham did not play on opening night against BYU because of a knee injury and will not play again this season.  The star TE has cartilage damage in his knee and needed stitches to repair it.  Gresham will be replaced by the combination of Trent Ratterree and James Hanna.  The 2008 first team All-American had 66 receptions for 950 yards and 14 touchdowns and is widely regarded as the best TE in the nation.
09/087:19amSam BradfordQB Out ShoulderHeisman Trophy winner Bradford suffered a grade 3 sprain in the AC joint in his right shoulder against BYU on opening night.  Oklahoma HC Bob Stoops has said his star QB is out 2-4 weeks. The senior signal caller was replaced by Landry Jones to start the second half against BYU and Landry will continue to run the Sooners' offense.
08/2212:29pmTom WortLB Out For Year KneeHeralded freshman Tom Wort will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL, providing another hit to the Sooners' depth at MLB. He was expected to immediately join the Sooners' playing rotation and contribute on special teams. Starting MLB Ryan Reynolds has been sidelined for some practices with a slight hamstring injury.
08/103:40pmAlex WilliamsOG Out For Year TransferSophomore Alex Williams has decided to transfer. Williams said he and OU coach Bob Stoops had a conversation regarding his status with the team. After that conversation, both parties decided Williams would be better off at another school. Williams played in six games as a backup in 2008 during his redshirt freshman season and was listed as a backup on the 2009 depth chart.

09/129:24pmJeremiah PriceDL Questionable UnknownPrice limped off the field in the fourth quarter of OK State's week two loss to Houston due to an unknown injury and did not return.  Consider the senior defensive lineman initially questionable to play on Sept. 19 against Rice.
09/129:23pmKendall HunterRB Questionable LegHunter had to be helped off the field in the third quarter of OK State's week two match-up against Houston and did not return.  The star halfback will be reevaluated on Monday but for the time being consider him questionable to play on Sept. 19 against Rice.
09/129:21pmMarkelle MartinS Questionable UndisclosedMartin did not dress during OK State's first two games.  He is questionable on Sept. 19 against Rice.  Cowboys secondary is extremely thin without Martin and his counterpart Lucien Antoine healthy. Perrish Cox took most of the snaps in place of Martin last weekend.
09/129:20pmLucien AntoineS Questionable UndisclosedAntoine had to be helped from the field during the third quarter of OK State's opening week game and did not return.  He did not play on Saturday Sept. 12 against Houston and is questionable to return on Sept. 19 against Rice.  Considered the "punisher" on the Cowboys defense, Antoine leaves a big hole in the secondary that freshman Daytawion Lowe will attempt to fill if Antoine cannot play.
09/046:41amOrie LemonLB Out For Year KneeLemon has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season.  The projected starter at MLB's injury leaves a hole in the Cowboys defense, however HC Mike Gundy is confident in his depth at the position.  Donald Booker is Lemon's likely replacement having seen action in all 13 games last year and ranking fourth on the team amongst returning tacklers.  Tolu Moala and Justin Gent should be in line for more reps on game day as well.
09/025:45amJamal MosleyTE Out PersonalMosley is out indefinitely after leaving Oklahoma State for personal reasons.  The sophomore was the projected starter at tight end, but with Mosley out, fellow sophomore Wilson Youman is expected to be elevated to the top of the depth chart.  Youman played in all 13 games last year making one catch.
08/298:21amKye StaleyRB Out For Year KneeReserve RB Staley suffered a severe knee injury during a preseason scrimmage and will be lost for the year.  Staley was slated to begin the year at third on the running back depth chart behind All-Big XII back Kendall Hunter and experienced backup Keith Toston.  His injury opens the door for JUCO transfer Beau Johnson to get into the running back mix.
08/2610:18pmBo BowlingWR Out SuspensionSenior WR Bo Bowling is suspended indefinitely from all team activities pending the result of judicial proceedings on drug charges. The trial date is in September diminishing his chance to participate in fall camp. Bowling caught 10 passes for 200 yards in 2008. The Cowboys have a handful of mostly inexperienced receivers to line up opposite of All American stud Dez Bryant.

09/129:39amDeWitt StuckeyLB Questionable KneeSophomore DeWitt Stuckey has been sidelined with a knee problem and did not even travel for the season opener. He is questionable for week two vs. Purdue. Stuckey is expected to be a top reserve for the Ducks in 2009. Junior LB Spencer Paysinger says, "We have eight strong, fast linebackers that can come in and play different positions" so depth does not seem to be an issue.
09/102:56pmRory CavailleWR Out ShoulderSenior Rory Cavaille missed the BSU game due to a shoulder injury and HC Kelly has already ruled him 'out' for week 2. Cavaille is listed as a reserve receiver on the depth chart.
09/0910:28pmCharlie CarmichaelOL Doubtful FootSophomore lineman Charlie Carmichael had his left foot in a walking boot after suffering an injury in a scrimmage. No indication of the seriousness of the injury but he did not enter the season opening game vs. BSU and is doubtful for week two vs. Purdue. Carmichael appears as the backup at one of the guard positions on two different depth charts.
09/0910:27pmT.J. WardS Doubtful AnkleWard suffered an ankle injury at Boise State and has been downgraded to doubtful for week two vs. Purdue. The senior could not put any weight on his ankle when he was helped off the field. RS freshman John Boyett stepped in for Ward and finished the game but it is possible the Ducks will shuffle their secondary if Ward cannot go. One of the rovers, Javes Lewis or Marvin Johnson, could shift over.
09/047:53pmTyrece GainesWR Questionable KneeProjected backup receiver Tyrece Gaines had arthroscopic knee surgery on his knee a few weeks ago and had been slowed early in fall camp. He returned to full speed at practice and was upgraded to probable for the season opener but did not enter the game. He is listed as a No. 2 receiver behind USC transfer Jamere Holland.
09/047:39pmLeGarrette BlountRB Out For Year SuspensionBlount's collegiate career has come to an untimely end as he has been suspended for the remainder of the season after sucker-punching Boise State DE Bryon Hout following the Ducks' loss last night. Blount rushed for 1,002 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns last season. RS freshman LaMichael James is listed as the No. 2 tailback on the depth chart. After Blount, junior Remene Alston ranks highest among returning running backs in carries last year. Alston should be in the mix now as well.
08/106:16pmDaniel PadillaK Out For Year TransferBuried on the depth chart and passed by Morgan Flint last year, Daniel Padilla has decided to transfer.
08/0711:52pmBraxton LaneWR Out For Year Not EnrollingLane would have instantly become the Ducks fastest player on the field but has decided to play baseball, signing a contract with the Texas Rangers. He decided to focus on baseball his senior year in high school and has not played football in a year.
08/0711:48pmAaron PflugradWR Out For Year TransferAaron followed his father's footsteps off the Eugene campus and has decided to transfer to Arizona State. He was projected to be a No. 1 receiver for the Ducks but will now sit out 2009. Robin Pflugrad, Aaron's dad, was an assistant coach with Oregon from 2006 to 2008.
08/0711:40pmChris HarperWR Out For Year TransferHarper has decided to transfer to a school closer to home (Kansas) citing homesickness as the main reason. He was Oregon's backup slot receiver coming out of spring drills and was also used situationally at running back and quarterback. He was also in the running to return kicks this fall.
08/0711:36pmJustin RoperQB Out For Year TransferOregon granted Roper his release in late May and the QB says he will play at Montana this season. He started Oregon's first three games a year ago before suffering a knee injury that forced him to miss the next four games. Roper was not satisfied after spring drills when he emerged as starter Jeremiah Masoli's backup.

09/0911:04pmRyan McCantsRB Doubtful KneeMcCants has been sidelined with a knee injury and is doubtful for Saturday at UNLV. HC Mike Riley said his backup tailback might be ready to play when Cincinnati comes to town on Sep 19.
09/0911:01pmLyle MoevaoQB Doubtful ShoulderMoevao lost his starting job due to a shoulder injury and was not able to play in Saturday's season opener. The senior has been downgraded to doubtful for the week two matchup vs. UNLV but he will travel with the team as the emergency No. 3 QB. Fellow senior Sean Canfield started the game and was 8 for 11 for 158 yards and a touchdown. RS freshman Ryan Kats finished the game and completed 7 of 12 passes for 124 yards.
09/0911:00pmKeynan ParkerCB Probable ShoulderParker has returned from a shoulder injury and will play on special teams starting this week at UNLV. He will work into the cornerback position soon. Parker injured his shoulder in the first week of training camp and missed a month of practice.
09/0611:18pmTimi OshinowoOL Questionable KneeJunior offensive tackle Timi Oshinowo took another step in the rehabilitation of his injured knee. He and RS freshman Tony Wilson were running sprints from sideline to sideline last week. Oshinowo did not play in the season opener vs. Portland State but is questionable for week two vs. UNLV.
09/066:25pmDarrell CatchingsSE Questionable WristJunior split end Darrell Catchings does NOT have a broken bone in his wrist and won't miss the 2009 season as was first expected. He missed the season opener but may be able to return as early as Sept 12. Doctors realized what they thought was a fracture was actually an old, previous undetected injury that had healed. That means no surgery on the wrist that has tendon and ligament damage. Catchings has been groomed to be the go-to receiver this season. The split end is the first option in many passing plays at OSU. Senior Damola Adeniji started in week one vs. Portland State and caught three passes for 45 yards.
08/093:40pmReggie DunnWR Out For Year GrayshirtSophomore recruit and JC transfer Dunn will grayshirt the 2009 season. One source says that Dunn was one of the fastest, if not the fastest, player in JC this past season. He was expected to make an early contribution on special teams at the very least. With the emergence of Darryl Catchings, Jordan Bishop, and the return of a healthy James Rodgers, Coach Riley may have redshirted Dunn this year anyway.
08/093:34pmTony WilsonLB Out For Year KneeReserve linebacker Wilson tore his ACL and will sit out the 2009 season. The junior has played in two games in his two years as a Beaver.

09/0812:17pmNavorro BowmanLB Questionable GroinFirst-team All-Big 10 linebacker Navorro Bowman removed himself from the season opener and did not return. Team members said Bowman had been bothered by a right groin injury for a couple of weeks and he had to pull the plug early because of the injury. Bowman's status for week two vs. Syracuse is uncertain, and if he does play, he will not be 100%. Sophomore Nate Stupar was summoned and was terrific in week one relief, finishing with a team-high 10 tackles and a sack.
08/1710:48pmMike MautiLB Out For Year KneePromising sophomore linebacker Mike Mauti tore the ACL in one of his knees over the weekend. He will undergo surgery shortly and the expected rehab time is nine months. Mauti played as a true freshman last year and can redshirt in 2009. The loss of Mauti is huge. He was PSU's best young linebacker and was pushing for a starting spot. Mauti has the size (6-2, 230) to play inside or outside but was ideally suited to play outside. With Mauti out, PSU's starting linebacker trio is Sean Lee, Navorro Bowman and Josh Hull. Another young linebacker to watch is Nate Stupar.
08/0911:14pmJames McDonaldWR Out For Year DismissedSenior wideout McDonald has been removed from the team and will not be invited back for a fifth season after being charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. The reserve has seen little significant playing time but has appeared in 21 games.
08/0910:58pmAbe KoromaDT Out For Year PersonalJoe-Pat said that Koroma is going to drop out for a year due to a "personal decision" and did not elaborate on whether the redshirt junior would be back for his final year of eligibility in 2010. He was listed as the No. 2 DT behind junior starter Ollie Ogbu. Koroma has 33 career tackles.

09/086:52amKolby GrayQB Out For Year ShoulderFreshman QB Gray has undergone shoulder surgery and will be out for the year.  While the injury was only minor, Pitt HC Dave Wannsedt wanted to make sure his top recruit would be 100% healed by the time he was needed on the field in a year or so.  Gray was never in the mix for playing time this year.
08/107:34pmJohn PelusiTE Out For Year ShoulderSenior tight end John Pelusi suffered a shoulder injury that will end his career. He started eight games in his two years wearing a Panther jersey. 2008 First TM BE tight end Nate Byham will return as the Pittsburgh starter.

HC Hope says McBurse was banged up throughout training camp and hasn't had an opportunity to establish a rhythm. Sophomore Ralph Bolden started the game and rushed for 234 yards on 21 carries while senior Jaycen Taylor ran the ball 14 times for 81 yards. Both backs scored two touchdowns apiece.

09/068:07pmEric HedstromOL Questionable ShoulderSenior Eric Hedstrom is still recovering from a shoulder injury suffered last year and sat out the season opener. He started the first eight games of the season before going down with the injury. The starting guards are sophomore Ken Plue (6 starts in '08) and senior Zach Reckman (18 starts last two years).
08/1012:03amKevin GreenCB Out For Year DismissedSophomore Kevin Green has been dismissed for repeated violations of team policy. He was listed as the backup to 2008 Honorable Mention All Big 10 CB David Pender. Green played in nine games last year on the special teams unit.

09/129:32pmMarcus WitherspoonLB Questionable LegProjected starting LB Marcus Witherspoon has pulled a muscle in his leg and did not play on opening night against Cincinnati or in week two against Howard.  The oft-injured transfer from Michigan "...has just been snake-bit," HC Schiano said. "Hopefully he's getting [the injuries] all out of the way and then have a nice, clean run for the next four or five years."  Consider Witherspoon extremely questionable to play on Saturday Sept. 12 against Howard, especially with the Scarlet Knights on a short week.
09/118:24amMason RobinsonRB/WR Out For Year KneeScarlet Knights' RB/WR Robinson will not play again this year after it was discovered he needs surgery on his injured knee.  Robinson leaves a big void in several spots for Rutgers as he served as the third down back and also a reserve at wide receiver.  The do-it-all playmaker will have at least two more years of eligibility remaining.
08/2712:50amStephante KentLB Out Head/NeckWalk-on and transfer from La Salle Stephante Kent was carted off the practice field Tuesday with his head and neck immobilized.
