Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/198:07amJerrell HarrisLB Doubtful EligibilitySophomore SLB Jerrell Harris did not play in the first two games of the season due to questions surrounding his eligibility.  His status for the Sept 19 game against North Texas is doubtful.  Harris received a laptop from Auburn booster Curtis Anderson, the same man who paid for a fishing trip for fellow Alabama sophomores Mark Ingram and Julio Jones.  Harris, a reserve SLB (No. 2 on the depth chart), played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2008.
09/193:08amRoy UpchurchRB Doubtful AnkleSenior RB Roy Upchurch suffered a high ankle sprain during his first start in 30 games for the Crimson Tide (Sept 12 vs. FIU).  He has not participated in full practice drills this week.  His status for the Sept 19 game against North Texas is doubtful.  Upchurch was starting in place of sophomore RB Mark Ingram, who had been battling the flu the week of the game.  While Upchurch recovers, Terry Grant and true freshman Trent Richardson will take snaps at reserve tailback.
09/193:06amJulio JonesWR Doubtful KneeSophomore WR Julio Jones was knocked out of the game against Florida International with a bruised knee.  His status for the Sept 19 game against North Texas is doubtful, as he is not participating in full contact drills in practice.  Jones was a second team All SEC performer in 2008, leading Alabama in receiving yards (924), receptions (58), and TD receptions (4).
09/158:14amKenny BellWR Questionable ShinTrue freshman WR Kenny Bell has not played all season because of debilitating shin splints that keep him from practicing.  He does not participate in any contact drills during practice.  His status for the rest of the season is questionable, making him a likely redshirt candidate.
09/158:11amDamion SquareDE Out For Year Torn ACLRedshirt freshman DE Damion Square tore his ACL during the Sept 12 game against Florida International and will miss the rest of the 2009 season.  "It's really too bad," Saban said. 08/174:37pmBrandon FanneyLB Out For Year TransferFanney has been granted permission to transfer from UA. The 2008 starter was third on the team with 66 tackles - nine for a loss. With Fanney's departure look for senior Eryk Anders to take over the starting job.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/1711:17amLucas MillerWR Out CollarboneSenior receiver Lucas Miller went down with a broken collar bone during preseason practice and has missed four weeks of action.  His target return date is Sept 26 against Alabama.  Lucas' absence hits the Razorbacks' depth a little as he was to be part of the receiving rotation, although not a starter.
09/0910:02amLondon CrawfordWR Out CollarboneSenior WR London Crawford will miss 4-6 weeks after breaking his collarbone against Missouri State on Sept 5.  The first-string receiver started in 11 games in 2008 and was a starter in the opener.  Crawford recorded two catches for 44 yards against Missouri State.  It is not known how Crawford's injury will affect Arkansas, as the Razorbacks have one of the deepest receiving corps in the SEC.  Thirteen different players caught passes during the Sept 5 season opener.

08/095:25pmKhiry BattleLB Out For Year DismissedBackup LB Battle has been dismissed from the football team after being arrested twice within the span of seven weeks. The sophomore's vacated No. 2 MLB job will most likely be filled by junior Jermaine Love who has nine tackles in two seasons.

Next game: Ball State at Army on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/197:25amCeDarius WilliamsFB Out AnkleWilliams will not play on Saturday Sept. 19 against Ball State due to an ankle injury.  The starting FB will likely be replaced by slot back Pat Mealy in formations with a fullback.  Mealy enters week three with just over 200 yards rushing, tops on the team.
09/196:55amTrent SteelmanQB Probable RibsStarting QB Steelman, the first freshman to start at Army in over 50 years, was limited on Saturday Sept. 12 against Duke due to an injury to his ribs.  Consider him probable to play heading into week three, but his role is  TBD.  Junior QB Chip Bowden, the starter in 2008, had been taking the bulk of the first team reps in practice, but it was Carson Williams who saw the game day snaps when Steelman was out.
Auburn Tigers
Next game: West Virginia at Auburn on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/193:05amMontez BillingsWR Out For Year Left teamSenior WR Montez Billings left the team to pursue other opportunities.  Billings has already graduated from Auburn University.  As the leading returning receiver (24 receptions, 227 receiving yards in 2008), Billings was expected to start again this season and vie for the top receiver slot.  His departure leaves a giant hole at WR that needs to be replaced immediately.
09/179:45amAntoine CarterDE Questionable KneeJunior DE Antoine Carter has returned to practice this week (Sept 14) after missing most of the fall preseason camp and the first two games of the season.  The No. 2 DE is expected to be available for the game on Sept 19 against West Virginia, but it is not known at this time if he will play according to defensive line coach Tracy Rocker.
09/179:38amDrew ColeS Out Ankle

Sophomore FS Drew Cole will miss the Sept 19 game against West Virginia with an ankle injury.  Cole sustained the injury during Auburn's SEC opener against Mississippi State.  Cole's absence, combined with the preseason injuries to Aairon Savage and Mike McNeil, thins out the Auburn defensive back rotation.

09/179:22amTommy TrottTE Doubtful KneeSenior TE Tommy Trott injured his right knee during the Sept 12 game against Mississippi State.  His status for the game against West Virginia is doubtful.  Says head coach Gene Chizik, "Right now, we just don't know."  In 2008, Trott made 11 starts at TE and amassed over 200 receiving yards.  If Trott is unable to go, true freshman Phillip Lutzenkirchen will start in his place.

08/2212:44pmTim HawthorneWR Out FootJunior receiver Tim Hawthorne is still recovering from a broken foot in July and is expected to miss at least the first four games of the season. The Tigers had high hopes for Hawthorne as he emerged as the No. 1 receiving threat in the spring. Junior Terrell Zachery, sophomore Darvin Adams and senior Montez Billings are currently the frontrunners to start.
08/2212:40pmMichael McNeilDB Out LegJunior Mike McNeil is still rehabbing from a broken leg and probably will not be ready until midseason. Freshman Daren Bates has made a favorable impression in each of the team's first two scrimmages and it looks like HC Chizik has found the player who will step up in McNeil's absence.
08/2212:04pmAairon SavageDB Out For Year AchillesProjected starter Aairon Savage tore his Achilles and is out for the season.
08/095:45pmChristian ThompsonS Out For Year Left TeamSophomore safety Thompson has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Thompson played in 10 games in 2008 as a true freshman logging one tackle. He played a bigger role during the spring with starters Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil limited by injuries.
08/095:43pmMarcus JemisonLB/S Out For Year Left TeamReserve LB/S Jemison has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Jemison redshirted last season after sustaining an injury.

09/081:52amMadaris GrantTE Out For Year KneeGrant tore his ACL in the first quarter of the season opener and will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks. The senior and team captain will petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility. After Thursday's loss, HC Parrish said Grant was the one player he couldn't afford to lose. Grant's replacement has not been determined. Sophomore Ryan Hartke, who had never played the position before, filled in Thursday night but was called for a holding penalty that nullified a Ball State touchdown. Freshman Zane Fakes, a converted running back, will compete with Hartke for the starting job.
08/132:07amDerrick HenryS Out For Year AcademicsJunior Derrick Henry was expected to provide depth in the Cardinals' secondary but is not with the team because of what coach Stan Parrish termed "academic issues" encountered during the spring semester. Henry finished 2008 with 42 tackles, but he had only 12 in the final seven games. While unable to play regularly on defense, he was regarded as a key performer on special teams.
Baylor Bears
Next game: Connecticut at Baylor on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/199:56amJeremy WilliamsSS Questionable AnkleWilliams suffered a mild ankle sprain in practice this week that has left him questionable to play on Saturday Sept. 19 against UConn.  With Williams expected to be limited at best, Byron Landor is penciled in for more snaps, however Landor himself is just getting over an injury.
09/199:55amByron LandorSS Probable KneeTop reserve safety Landor sat out Baylor's first game with a sprained knee.  He is hopeful to play on Sept. 19 against UConn even after the bye week.  With the junior probable, the Bears will likely press him into duty aside Jordan Lake as Jeremy Williams is nicked up.
Boise State Broncos
Next game: Boise State at Bowling Green on 09/26
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/166:50pmGreg GrimesDT Doubtful LegRS freshman DT Greg Grimes has been out nearly a month with a leg injury. He is listed as doubtful for Friday's matchup with Fresno State. The position was thin to begin with for Boise State, and it got thinner before the start of fall camp when HC Petersen suspended talented defensive tackle Michael Atkinson following a DUI arrest. Boise State still has two excellent, explosive and aggressive defensive tackles - Chase Baker and Billy Winn - but no proven performers behind them.
09/155:24pmMitch BurroughsWR Probable UnknownBurroughs did not play against Miami due to an unspecified injury. The backup receiver has been upgraded to probable for Fresno State.
09/155:22pmChandler KochTE Questionable UnknownKoch has yet to play this season due to an unspecified injury and is being evaluated on a week to week basis. Consider the backup TE questionable for Friday night at Fresno State.
09/155:20pmMatt KaisermanRB Questionable UnknownKaiserman has not played yet this season due to an unknown injury and will be evaluated on a week to week basis. Consider the backup questionable for Friday at Fresno State.
09/155:17pmAaron BurksWR Out For Year RedshirtTrue freshman Aaron Burks likely will redshirt unless the Broncos have an injury that forces their hand, HC Petersen said. The Broncos decided to play true freshman wideout Kirby Moore against Miami - filling the one vacant slot in the receiver rotation. Burks was listed on the depth chart for the first two games but didn't play.
09/147:19pmMichael AtkinsonDT Out SuspensionFreshman defensive tackle Michael Atkinson has not played yet this season due to a suspension and is expected to miss Friday vs. Fresno State. Atkinson was arrested in July on a DUI charge after a car accident. He also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Both charges are misdemeanors. Sophomores Billy Winn and Chase Baker appear to be at the top of the depth chart.
09/1311:55pmGarrett PendergastOL Questionable KneeProjected starting left guard Garrett Pendergast had arthroscopic knee surgery and was forced to sit out the first two games of the season. The sophomore made one start as a RS freshman last year. Junior Will Lawrence has been starting in his place.
08/171:02amAndy SilsbyFB Out For Year KneeSenior fullback Andy Silsby tore an ACL in a softball game and will be out for the year. He will help coach.
08/1312:31amDrew HawkinsQB Out For Year PersonalQuarterback-turned-wide receiver Drew Hawkins has left the football program and quit the sport because of a history of concussions. Hawkins sustained his latest concussion in a recreational softball game. He was slated to move to receiver this fall after spending his redshirt year at quarterback. The loss of Hawkins means the Broncos only have two quarterbacks on the roster who have taken a snap in a college practice - sophomore starter Kellen Moore and junior backup Mike Coughlin. True freshmen Mike Tamburo and Joe Southwick will compete for the third-string job.
Boston College Eagles
Next game: Boston College at Clemson on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/1812:18pmMike McLaughlinLB Doubtful AchillesSenior LB Mike McLaughlin missed the first two games of the season and is doubtful for the Sept 19 game against Clemson.  When healthy, McLaughlin is expected to provide stability to a linebacker crew that lost its leader, Mark Herzlich, to cancer for the entire 2009 season.  In 2008, McLaughlin started all 14 games for Boston College and was second on the team in tackles with 89 (53 solo) and four sacks.
09/1812:18pmIfeanyi MomahWR Doubtful KneeJunior WR Ifeanyi Momah has been out indefinitely with a sprained right medial collateral ligament injury, but he is listed as doubtful for the Sept 19 game against Clemson.  The reserve receiver caught 11 passes in 2008 for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns (second on the team last season).
09/1812:17pmWill ThompsonLB Doubtful ShoulderSophomore LB Will Thompson missed the first two games of the season and is doubtful for the Sept 19 game against Clemson.  Thompson is listed as the No. 1 WLB on the depth chart.  In Thompson's absence, true freshman Luke Kuechly will see significant playing time.
09/1812:16pmJames McCluskeyFB Out AchillesJunior FB James McCluskey battled an Achilles injury for most of fall preseason camp and has missed the first two games of the season.  He is ruled out for the Sept 19 game against Clemson.  In 2008, McCluskey rushed for 84 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown and also caught 19 passes for 123 yards.  Senior DT Brendan Deska could see action at FB during McCluskey's absence.
09/178:52amDamik ScafeDT Doubtful UndisclosedJunior DT Damik Scafe did not practice on Sept 16, and his status for the Sept 19 game against Clemson is questionable.  Scafe and sophomore Kaleb Ramsey are being depended upon to fill the void left by NFL draft picks BJ Raji and Ron Brace at DT.
08/105:33pmMark HerzlichLB Out For Year CancerHerzlich has been diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer in his left leg. The ACC Defensive Player of the year is two months into an aggressive chemotherapy plan and will not play in 2009. The cancer gives him a five-percent higher chance of breaking his leg. "If it breaks, the cancer spreads," he said.
08/105:23pmDominique DavisQB Out For Year AcademicsProjected starting quarterback Dominique Davis was declared academically ineligible and will transfer out of the BC program. The QB position in BC is a bit chaotic. There are six QB's on the roster, NONE of which have taken an in-game snap from under center in their careers. Billy Flutie has played college ball - at wide receiver, punter and holder - but he will only get a handful of chances for "change-of-pace" snaps. Codi Boek played in every game last year, including four starts - at FullBack. The other four candidates are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.

He is one of the Falcons' top defensive players and led the team in tackles in 2008 as well as the first two games this year. 09/1012:03amTyrone ProntyWR Out FootPronty suffered a broken foot in the season opener against Troy and will be out 4-to-6 weeks. The senior was second on the team with six receptions. Sophomore Ray Hutson will start in Pronty's spot.

Senior Tyler Sheehan has the Falcon's starting job locked up with a number of inexperienced quarterbacks vying for the backup position.
08/1611:25pmCalvin WileyWR Out KneeSenior wide receiver Calvin Wiley suffered a knee injury that could possibly sideline him for the season. Concerns are Wiley, who missed the 2007 campaign because of a knee injury, suffered ligament damage. Results from an MRI will determine his fate. The Falcons have three other seniors all with starting experience slated as No. 1's.

08/2512:57pmJames StarksRB Out For Year ShoulderBuffalo's chances of repeating as MAC champions suffered a major blow Tuesday when the school announced that star senior running back James Starks will miss the season with a labral tear in his shoulder. Starks is a fifth-year senior and has no eligibility remaining. Starks is the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,140 yards and 34 rushing touchdowns. RS freshman Marco Thorson will take Speredon's place as the starter.
08/1112:13pmBernard AfutitiDE Out For Year AcademicsJunior DE Bernard Afutiti is academically ineligible to compete in 2009. He will remain in school and work on becoming eligible for 2010. 09/0911:21pmSpencer LadnerTE Out KneeStarter Spencer Ladner suffered a knee injury in the season opener that will keep him out of action at least three weeks. Sophomore Anthony Miller will take over as the starting tight end, but the Bears are woefully thin behind him. Skyler Curran caught his first pass last Saturday. Jarrett Sparks is a converted reciever. Garry Graffort is a junior walk-on.
08/195:30pmTad SmithTE Out For Year KneeTad Smith has a torn ACL in his right knee and is out for the season. Unless he petitions the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility, his college career is over. The fifth-year senior used his redshirt year in 2005. Smith had been battling sophomore Anthony Miller for the starting job. He was primarily a backup last season and played in 12 games, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Smith's absence means Miller should begin the season as the starting TE with senior Skylar Curran and RS freshmen Jarrett Sparks and Spencer Ladner fighting for a backup role.

08/131:22amTaylor BradleyCB Out For Year AcademicsJunior Taylor Bradley will not be with the 2009 football team because of academic ineligibility. One of two seniors, Tommy Mama or Kirkston Edwards, is the likely candidate to take over the CB spot for the projected starter.
08/131:17amJosh AllisonDT Out For Year UnknownSophomore Josh Allison's career is apparently over due to an unspecified injury. The Chippewas return senior Frank Zombo, an All-MAC selection, junior Sean Murnane, senior Sam Williams and senior Larry Knight along the defensive line. Past that, HC Butch Jones said the key will be to develop depth and have younger players step up and contribute. "Our defensive line, we're probably going to (need) one or two freshman to be able to step up and give us some reps there," he said.

09/196:56amJohn GoebelRB Out HamstringGoebel remains out indefinitely with a hamstring injury that has kept him out of action all season long.  The redshirt freshman was in the mix for carries during fall camp but obviously now health is his only concern.
09/196:56amDrew FreySS Probable LegFreshman safety Frey is expected to get back in the starting lineup on Saturday Sept. 19 against Oregon State after sitting out in week two when he was a late scratch due to a leg injury suffered just prior to the game.  Quincy Quetant will likely revert to his backup role.
09/182:22pmMalik JamesDB Out For Year Left TeamSophomore DB James has left the University of Cincinnati to return to his native California, ending his football career as a Bearcat.  James played sparingly, primarily appearing on special teams in his one plus year on the team.
09/182:21pmCurtis YoungLB Out KneeCincinnati's defense suffered a huge blow when senior LB Young suffered a knee injury in practice leading up to week three's match-up with Oregon State and required surgery.  Young is expected to miss 2-3 weeks while recovering.  The Linebacker/DE hybrid started the first two games of the year, recording 13 tackles and a sack.
08/111:57amVidal HazeltonWR Out For Year EligibilityProjected starter and USC transfer Vidal Hazelton will not play in 2009 after the NCAA denied his request to become immediately eligible. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver caught 50 passes for 540 yards with the Trojans in 2007. Bothered by a high ankle sprain last season, he had only six receptions. Hazelton's addition could have given Cincinnati the deepest receiving corps in the Big East. The Bearcats still return Mardy Gilyard, a first-team All-Big East performer last year, and improving sophomore D.J. Woods.

09/198:41amXavier DyeWR Out PersonalJunior WR Xavier Dye had a change of heart and decided not to transfer according to head coach Dabo Swinney.  Dye began the season as a starting WR and made the start against Middle Tennessee State.  However, he lost his starting job in practice to sophomore Brandon Clear (who had been sidelined for much of the fall preseason camp with a rib injury).  Dye will not play against Boston College on Sept 19.
09/189:36amMichael PalmerTE Probable HipSenior TE Michael Palmer injured his hip during the Georgia Tech game on Sept 10, but an X-ray revealed no broken bones.  He is listed as probable for the Sept 19 game against Boston College.  Palmer, the No. 1 TE on the depth chart, was second on the team in 2008 with three touchdown receptions.
09/058:08amJK JayT Out For Year BackTrue freshman RT JK Jay is out for the season with a herniated disc in his back.  Jay suffered the injury during summer workouts.  Prior to going down with the injury, Jay was expected to push for a starting job at right tackle prior to his injury.
08/105:05pmBarry HumprhiesOG Out For Year TransferHumphries is no longer a member of the Clemson football team, Head Coach Dabo Swinney announced. Humphries intends to transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility this fall. "I would like to be a starter in my final year of college and it would be very difficult for that to be the case at Clemson this year," said Humphries. Sophomore Antonio McClain has a lock on the right guard position and senior Thomas Austin will man the left guard job in 2009.
08/104:59pmStanley HunterLB Out For Year Giving Up FootballSophomore Stanley Hunter suffers from epilepsy and is giving up football. As a true freshman last year he played in 12 games and accumulated 37 tackles. Colorado Buffaloes
Next game: Wyoming at Colorado on 09/19
Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/196:57amCody HawkinsQB Probable ConcussionHawkins suffered a mild concussion after a brutal hit late in week two.  While he did not return to the game, he has pronounced himself ready to go on Saturday Sept. 19 against Wyoming, saying "I feel good.  Probably in a little bit more pain than I've been since I've been here. But I'm feeling good and I'll be ready to go by Saturday."  Hawkins, like all Buffs' QBs wont take any contact in practice this week.  Tyler Hansen is his primary back-up.
09/196:57amRodney StewartRB Probable HamstringA hamstring injury kept starting RB Stewart from playing in week two against Toledo but he is expected to return on Saturday Sept. 19 against Wyoming.  Darrell Scot took more carries in week two with Stewart out and remains the #2 RB for the Buffs.
09/178:40amMarkques SimasWR Questionable Suspension/LegIt's probable best to consider projected starting wide receiver Markques Simas questionable on Saturday Sept. 19 against Wyoming.  While he had been suspended for the Buffaloes' first two games of the 2009 season, that punishment has ended and he is eligible, however Simas has suffered a leg injury in practice that threatens to keep him out.  Simas' suspension was significant because the sophomore has developed into the Buffaloes' top deep threat at its thin receiving position.  His return should greatly help to turn around an 0-2 season.
09/177:53amMike IltisC Probable AnkleStarting center Iltis continues to be limited in practice by an ankle injury suffered in week one,  While the injury has not forced Iltis to miss any time, Colorado is prepared for backup center Keegan Stevens to spell him if necessary on Sept. 19 against Wyoming.
09/177:50amBryce GivensOL Out PersonalStarting offensive lineman Givens will not play on Saturday Sept. 19 against Wyoming as he attends to a personal matter.  Givens has started the Buffs first two games at right tackle and his departure has led to some line shuffling.  Ryan Miller moves from RG to RT, and either Blake Behrens or Matt Bahr will play RG.  Neither of the latter two have appeared in a game yet this season.
09/1610:40amMatthew BahrOL Probable AnkleBahr did not playin Colorado's first two games because of a high ankle sprain.  He is expected to return on Saturday Sept. 19 against Wyoming.  Bahr is being counted on as the "sixth" offensive lineman, meaning he'll be the first option off the bench at both tackle and guard when healthy.
09/1610:40amMichael SipiliLB Probable KneeSipili did not play on Saturday Sept. 5 against Colorado State or on Friday Sept. 11 against Toledo, but consider him probable to return on Sept. 19 against Wyoming.  When healthy, Sipili is among the top linebacking options for the Buffs.
09/026:10amSione TauOL Out For Year SuspensionTau has been suspended for the fall semester by the Colorado football team for an undisclosed reason, essentially rendering him out for the season.  The sophomore was expected to provide depth on the offensive line.
09/025:59amNick KasaDE Out KneeFreshman Nick Kasa will be out for at least the Buffs' season opener on Sept. 5 against Colorado State after tearing the MCL in his left knee. Team officials are hoping that the injury is not as serious as originally diagnosed but Kasa could be out for as much as 6-8 weeks. A redshirt could be a possibility for the Buffaloes' top 2009 recruit if the knee requires surgery. Marquez Herrod is expected to be one of the starting DE. Sophomores Conrad Obi and LaGrone Shields have the inside track for playing time, followed by sophomore David Goldberg and freshman Nick O'Neill.
08/104:09pmDevin HeadRG Out For Year AcademicsHead has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2009 season. He started 10 games a year ago but out of spring training it appears sophomore Ryan Miller regained the starting role after taking a medical redshirt last season. Miller earned first team All-America honors his freshman year.
08/104:05pmJosh SmithWR Out For Year TransferJunior wide receiver Josh Smith has decided to transfer to pursue a musical career. He started 5 games last year and caught 29 passes for 387 yards. Coach Hawkins still has his main receiving threat in Scotty McKnight for 2009 but is looking at a plethora of inexperienced receivers to fill Smith's shoes.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/1910:44amCory MaconDE Probable HipMacon suffered a hip injury in Tuesday's practice but is expected to start against Nevada this weekend. Outside of senior Sam Stewart, the Rams could be hurting for experienced pass rushers this week.
09/1910:43amTy WhittierDE Probable ShoulderWhittier suffered a shoulder stinger but has been upgraded to probable for Nevada on Saturday. He is not listed on the Rams' two-deep but if Macon cannot play either, Colorado could be hurting for depth on the defensive line.
09/1910:42amIvory HerdDB Questionable ThumbHerd sat out last week's game with an injured thumb and is listed as questionable against Nevada. The sophomore had nine tackles in 2008 and adds depth to the Rams' secondary.
09/1910:40amJohn MosureRB Probable ConcussionMosure returned to practice Tuesday after sitting out with a concussion. The junior was full-go and has been upgraded to probable for Saturday's matchup with Nevada.
09/1611:02pmShelley SmithOL Out AnkleThe preseason All-MWC lineman is dealing with a sprained ankle and sat out the first two games of the season. Smith continues to make progress but HC Fairchild will not commit to a return date. Jake Gdowski is filling in for Smith while he is out.
09/1611:00pmGerard ThomasCB Doubtful KneeThomas had a precautionary MRI on his knee and HC Fairchild said he does not expect Thomas to play Saturday in the Nevada game.
09/1610:32pmTJ BorckyWR Questionable IllnessBorcky was not at practice Tuesday due to an unspecified illness. The backup receiver is questionable for Nevada this weekend. Senior Reshaun Greer was the only receiver to catch more than one pass in week two - he grabbed six of the eleven caught balls.

Date Time Player Name Pos Status Injury Notes
09/196:58amZach FraserQB Out KneeFrazer had to leave UConn's week two matchup against UNC due to a right knee injury and he did not return.  While Fraser did not suffer a season-ending injury and will not require surgery, UConn HC Randy Edsall has announced that he will be out for at least two weeks.  Cody Enders becomes the Huskies starting QB and Mike Box is elevated into the #2 role.  Enders was largely ineffective replacing Fraser in week two.
09/196:58amCody EndersQB Probable IllnessEnders has missed some practice time early this week with a flu bug that has been passing through the team.  The newly appointed starting QB is expected to be fine in time for the game on Sept. 19 against Baylor however.  Mike Box has been taking the first team reps with Enders out, and impressing, according to HC Randy Edsall, so it would not surprise to see Box take some snaps on Saturday, limiting Enders.
09/196:58amSio MooreLB Doubtful HamstringReserve LB Moore did not play on Saturday Sept. 12 against North Carolina due to a hamstring strain.  He is unlikely to play again on Saturday Sept. 19 against Baylor as UConn HC Randy Edsall says Moore is being evaluated on a week to week basis.  He provides depth in the linebacking corps when healthy.
09/196:57amScott LutrusLB Questionable NeckLutrus, who did not play last week due to a neck injury suffered in week one, remains questionable heading into Saturday Sept. 19 against Baylor.  He has not taken any contact this week in practice but still hopes to be ready for the weekend.  His status will likely end up being a game time decision.  The starting LB led UConn in tackles last year and is especially valuable as a run stopper on passing downs or when the opponent is in a passing formation.
09/188:30amMichael SmithWR Out KneeSmith will not travel with UConn to face Baylor on Saturday Sept. 19 due to a knee injury suffered last week in practice.  Though he suited up in week two against UNC and actually did get onto the field, doctors ordered him to rest after an MRI this week.  The sophomore has not caught a pass this season and provides depth when healthy.
09/148:30amJerome JuniorS Probable LegJunior was injured during UConn's match-up with UNC on Saturday Sept. 12 and could not finish the game but UConn HC Randy Edsall has said his injury is insignificant and Junior will not miss any time.  Consider him extremely probable to play on Saturday Sept. 19 against Baylor.
09/148:29amRyan GriffinTE Out BackGriffin was forced to leave UConn's game on Saturday Sept. 12 against UNC with a significant back injury that will force him to miss at least the next two games according to HC Randy Edsall.  With Griffin on the shelf, look for John Delahunt and Corey Manning to pick up the slack at TE.
09/128:04pmDwayne GratzCB Questionable KneeGratz did not play on Saturday Sept. 12 against UNC due to a shoulder injury and is questionable to go on Saturday Sept. 19 against Baylor.  The redshirt freshman DB has been impressive throughout camp and now the season and has earned significant playing time as a reserve, primarily at the nickle and dime back position.
08/2512:29pmHarris AgborS Out KneeReserve safety Harris Agbor suffered an LCL injury and is expected to be out at least six weeks. Senior Robert Vaughn is the lone safety on the roster with any valuable playing time under his belt.

08/2512:20pmAaron BagsbyFS Out SuspensionSophomore Aaron Bagsby has been suspended indefinitely for violating athletic department policies. He started two games in 2008 and picked off two passes. Outside of senior stud Robert Vaughn, the Huskies are largely inexperienced at safety.
08/2512:17pmYianni ApostolakosTE Out For Year HipSophomore Yianni Apostolakos is done playing football. His hip injury will not allow him to play the game anymore. Three redshirt freshmen remain on the roster at tight end; Ryan Griffin and John Delahunt have separated themselves from the pack according to HC Edsall. Both are big and physical and could help out the offense tremendously.
08/2512:11pmJohn YurekS Out For Year KneeReserve safety John Yurek suffered a knee injury and will miss the 2009 season. RS freshman Jerome Junior will solidify his role as backup to 2nd TM BE stud Robert Vaughn at free safety.
08/2512:09pmJimmy BennettOL Out For Year KneeRS freshman Jimmy Bennett will have season-ending surgery on Friday after injuring his knee. He was battling senior Dan Ryan all spring and through the early days of camp for a starting job. Sophomore Mike Ryan becomes the third tackle.
08/112:01amMarcus CampbellDE Out For Year Left TeamProjected starter Marcus Campbell will not play for the Huskies this season. Team officials did not give a reason for his departure saying only that he would not be enrolled in school this fall. The junior played in 11 games as a reserve in 2008, recording 3.5 sacks. He was expected to start this season and help UConn replace departed seniors Cody Brown and Julius Williams at defensive end.

09/192:53amJay HollingsworthRB Questionable Ankle

Sophomore RB Jay Hollingsworth is questionable for the Sept 19 game against Kansas with an ankle injury.  The No. 2 RB on the depth chart leads the Blue Devils in rushing this season and was the leading rusher in 2008 with 399 rushing yards.  Duke is banged up at RB, with senior Re'quan Boyette slowed by an ankle injury and true freshman Kyle Griswould unable to play through a leg injury.

09/189:47amVince OghobaaseDT Questionable LegSenior DT Vince Oghobaase is listed as questionable on the injury reports, but he is expected to play against Kansas on Sept 19.  Oghobaase has been battling an unspecified leg injury in practice.  The senior star is among Duke's all-time leaders in sacks and tackles for loss.  Oghobaase led the team in sacks in 2008 with six.
09/139:17amRandez JamesCB Out HandRedshirt freshman CB Randez James missed a second consecutive game with a hand injury.  The reserve CB has not seen action in a Duke uniform, as he was suspended for the 2009 Spring Game and has been nursing a hand injury since mid August.
09/139:16amKyle GriswouldRB Out LegTrue freshman RB Kyle Griswould missed his second straight game with an unspecified leg injury and will likely miss the Sept 19 game against Kansas.  It is believed that Griswould's prolonged absence makes it easier for the Duke coaching staff to redshirt him.  Prior to the injury, Griswould had outperformed highly touted local product Desmond Scott, though it was never certain that either would appear in a game this season.
09/1111:14amAnthony Young-WisemanS Out For Year KneeTrue freshman DB Anthony Young-Wiseman will miss the rest of the 2009 season with a knee injury.  Young-Wiseman was listed as the No. 2 SS when senior Zack Asack was dismissed from the team.

09/177:46amEmanuel DavisCB Probable ShoulderDavis, a reserve cornerback, did not play on Saturday Sept. 12 against West Virginia but is probable to return on Sept. 19 against UNC.  His injury thinned an already weak defensive backfield and forced redshirt freshmen Jack Shultz and Justin Veneble into more reps.  ECU had also moved freshman running back Michael Dobson into the secondary for further reinforcement.

Senior RB/WR Dexter McCluster was hospitalized for one night last week (Sept 9) with the flu.  He has since returned to practice and appears to be ready to play on Sept 19 against SE Louisiana.  McCluster is Ole Miss' most reliable playmaker despite his diminutive size (5-8, 165), as he was the leading rusher and third-leading receiver in 2008.

09/1510:40amGreg HardyDE Doubtful AnkleSenior DE Greg Hardy is listed as doubtful for the Sept 19 game against SE Louisiana with an ankle injury.  Head coach Houston Nutt is uncertain of the starting DE's return. ï¿½Id say Greg is very doubtful for this game, Nutt said. His ankle is still swollen. 09/178:52amJarrell HarrisonS Questionable ElbowBackup safety Harrison has missed the first two weeks of the 2009 season after dislocating his elbow but he is hopeful to return on Sept. 19 against Furman.  He has medical clearance but might not be ready mentally and even physically since he's missed a lot of time.  Harrison was likely the top reserve at both FS and SS and his lost hurts the Tigers' depth in the early going.
09/129:03pmJosh TatumLB Out BackJosh Tatum is out indefinitely with a back injury. Tatum transferred from City College of San Francisco after redshirting his freshman year at USC in 2006. The sophomore had competed with junior Zac Lee for the starting job during the spring before injuring the knee. This injury is a big loss for the Cornhuskers considering the lack of experience behind Lee. The Cornhuskers also have converted linebacker Latravis Washington and freshmen Ron Kellogg Jr. and Taylor Martinez in camp.
