Air Force Falcons Next game: TCU at Air Force on 10/10

The true sophomore's status for San Diego State was upgraded to probable but he did not enter the game. Sophomore Connor Dietz relieved Jefferson in the week three game and started the San Diego State game. Jefferson practiced all week and told the media that is ready to play vs. Navy.
09/28	10:16am	Asher Clark	RB	Questionable	Shoulder	Clark is dealing with an injured shoulder. HC Calhoun said Clark's status for the Navy game is indefinite. The sophomore is leading the Falcon's in rushing yards (262) through the first four games, but fullback Jared Tew continues to get the most carries. Junior Savier Stephens would see more playing time if Clark is unable to go.
09/20	4:54pm	PJ Adeji-Paul	CB	Out	Knee	Adeji-Paul left last week's game with a knee injury and HC Calhoun said he will be out about three weeks. Adeji-Paul was starting in place of junior Reggie Rembert who had been serving a suspension. Sophomore Josh Hall moves into the No. 2 spot while Adeji-Paul is on the shelf.
09/16	12:08pm	Kyle Halderman	WRZ	Out	Collarbone	Halderman broke his collarbone in August and will be out for another 4-6 weeks. The junior led the team in receiving last year with 266 yards and three touchdowns. Jonathan Warzeka will fill in while Halderman is out.
08/21	10:09pm	Anthony Hemphill	WR	Out For Year	Left Team	Senior Anthony Hemphill has left the Air Force football program. He was listed as the Falcons' backup X receiver in camp. He played in three games a year ago.
08/09	1:29am	Kyle Lumpkin	TB	Out For Year	Academics	Lumpkin will sit out the 2009 season due to academic reasons. He ranked third on the team in rushing last year. Starting tailback Asher Clark will be backed up by junior Savier Stephens.

09/23	11:43am	Cowles Stewart	OL	Out	Suspension	Stewart has been charged with felonious assault for repeatedly punching a man during a fight last month and has been suspended from the team. The sophomore started a couple of games as a freshman before being injured. He since has been relegated to backup duties.
09/19	7:38am	Chris Jacquemain	QB	Out	Suspension	Jacquemain has been suspended indefinitely from the Zips' football team for a violation of team rules. There is no timetable for his return. Sophomore Matt Rodgers takes over the starting duties while Jacquemain is out. His backup against Indiana will be either RS freshman walk-on Jared Wackerly or freshman Patrick Nicely.

10/03	7:23am	Demetrius Goode	RB	Questionable	Knee	Sophomore RB Demetrius Goode hyperextended his knee in the Sept 19 game against North Texas and did not play against Arkansas (Sept 26). Head coach Nick Saban says that Goode's injury is "nothing that's really an issue or a problem." The reserve RB (No. 4 on depth chart) is questionable for the Kentucky game.
09/29	11:15pm	Jeramie Griffin	FB	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Sophomore FB Jeramie Griffin will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL suffered during fall preseason camp. Griffin was a part of the fullback and running back rotations for the Crimson Tide in 2008.
09/28	6:59am	Dont'a Hightower	LB	Out For Year	Knee	Sophomore LB Dont'a Hightower will miss the rest of the 2009 season after undergoing surgery to repair ligament damage according to head coach Nick Saban. Hightower is known as one of the best pass-rushers in the SEC. The No. 1 WLB was replaced in the Arkansas game by fellow sophomore Courtney Upshaw.
09/27	11:04am	Jerrell Harris	LB	Out	Eligibility	Sophomore SLB Jerrell Harris is out indefinitely due to an issue regarding his eligibility. Harris received a laptop from Athens, AL native Curtis Anderson, the same man who paid for a fishing trip for fellow Alabama sophomores Mark Ingram and Julio Jones. Harris, a reserve SLB (No. 2 on the depth chart), played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2008.
09/15	8:11am	Damion Square	DE	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Redshirt freshman DE Damion Square tore his ACL during the Sept 12 game against Florida International and will miss the rest of the 2009 season. "It's really too bad," Saban said. "He got redshirted last year and was promising freshman. We were hopeful that he would give us great depth. But it gives somebody else an opportunity to go out and play."
08/26	6:09am	Petey Smith	LB	Out For Year	Grayshirt	True freshman LB Petey Smith will delay his arrival to Alabama until January 2010. The reserve MLB was listed as the No.3 MLB on the depth chart.

08/07	6:48pm	Prince Hall	LB	Out For Year	Transfer	Hall will play his senior season at Central Washington. The often-troubled linebacker has been suspended a number of times during his time at Alabama and decided it was time leave the program.

09/21	9:36pm	Rob Gronkowski	TE	Out For Year	Back	Junior Rob Gronkowski had season-ending surgery to help mend his ailing back. The Wildcats ran most of their offense through Gronkowski and will undeniably miss him. In the absence of the first-team All-Pac10 player Arizona's offense has noticeably lacked in production through the air. Junior A.J. Simmons has taken over the starting job.
08/09	1:38am	Scott Smith	DE	Out For Year	Kicked Off Team	Smith's scholarship has not been renewed and he is no longer on the football team. The sophomore reserve transferred from Cal a year ago and will not play in 2009.
08/09	1:34am	Kaniela Tuipulotu	DT	Out For Year	Transfer	Tuipulotu will transfer from Arizona to Hawaii. He started seven games in 2008 for the Wildcats but wants to be closer to home. He was listed as the No. 2 DT for 2009 as senior Earl Mitchell has a lock on the starting job.

09/23	9:57am	Thomas Weber	K	Out	Groin	Weber has a torn muscle in his groin and will be out four to six weeks while recovering. The 2007 Lou Groza award winner did not play last week against ULM and was replaced by true freshman Bobby Wenzig. Wenzig was 5-for-5 on extra points and made a 24-yard field goal in that contest. Wenzig likely takes over the kicking duties, but linebacker Mike Nixon kicked in high school and is another option for HC Erickson.

08/18	6:32pm	Brandon Smith	WR	Out	Knee	Reserve receiver Brandon Smith suffered what could be a serious knee injury last week. The fifth-year senior appeared to have injured his ankle at first but later was found to have suffered what could be a ligament tear. He was expected to be a backup split end this season behind Kerry Taylor and Gerell Robinson.

09/27	11:09am	London Crawford	WR	Questionable	Collarbone	Senior WR London Crawford broke his collarbone against Missouri State on Sept 5 and has missed three straight weeks of action. His status for the Texas A&M game is unknown. The first-string receiver started in 11 games in 2008 and was a starter in the opener. Crawford recorded two catches for 44 yards against Missouri State. It is not known how Crawford's injury will affect Arkansas, as the Razorbacks have one of the deepest receiving corps in the SEC. Thirteen different players caught passes during the Sept 5 season opener.
09/02	7:33am	John Henderson	DT	Out For Year	Transfer	Junior NT John Henderson has signed a letter of intent with Southern Mississippi. The former JUCO transfer had originally signed with Arkansas but was granted a release. Henderson was listed as the No. 3 NT on the Razorbacks depth chart.
09/02	7:29am	Brandon Lampkin	DE	Out For Year	Transfer	Sophomore DE Brandon Lampkin transferred to Georgia Southern. The reserve DL was listed as the No. 3 LDE on the depth chart.
09/02	7:17am	Colby Berna	G	Out For Year	Redshirt	True freshman LG Colby Berna will redshirt this season to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. Berna was listed as the No. 3 LG on the Razorbacks depth chart.
08/26	6:14am	Isaac Madison	CB	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Starting CB Isaac Madison is out for the season with a torn ACL (Aug 17). The junior starter at RCB was second on the team last season with 7 passes broken up and also recorded 38 tackles and 1 interception. Sophomore Greg Gatson immediately replaced Madison, but true freshmen Darius Winston (No. 2 RCB) and David Gordon (No. 3 LCB) are receiving what would be Madison's reps in practice.
08/09	5:25pm	Khiry Battle	LB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Backup LB Battle has been dismissed from the football team after being arrested twice within the span of seven weeks. The sophomore's vacated No. 2 MLB job will most likely be filled by junior Jermaine Love who has nine tackles in two seasons.

The senior had one start last year and had an impressive average of 16.4 yards per catch. Outside of senior Jahbari McLennan the Red Wolves have few players with much playing time under their belt.
08/13	6:15pm	Paul Stephens	CB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Senior defensive back Paul Stephens was dismissed from Red Wolves football after his arrest for breaking and entering. He was expected to compete with senior Cordarious Mingo for a starting job in 2009.
08/13	6:14pm	Leroy Trahan	DB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Junior DB Leroy Trahan was dismissed from the team due to conduct detrimental to the team. He was not likely to get much playing time in 2009 as he was buried on the depth chart.

10/03	6:18am	Trent Steelman	QB	Probable	Hip	Freshman QB Steelman is probable to start on Oct. 3 against Tulane despite suffering a hip injury in week four against Ball State. While Steelman is on track to start his fifth consecutive game, he has also missed time in all the previous four due to minor injuries, meaning plenty of playing time for backup Chip Bowden. In fact HC Rich Ellerson has said that he believes there are times when Bowden provides better matchups at QB, so expect to see some of the senior on Saturday.
10/03	6:16am	CeDarius Williams	FB	Questionable	Ankle	Williams did not play on Saturday Sept. 19 against Ball State or on Sept. 26 against Iowa State due to an ankle injury and is questionable to return on Oct. 3 against Tulane. The starting FB was replaced by slot back Pat Mealy in formations with a fullback. Mealy enters week four with just over 200 yards rushing, tops on the team.

10/03	7:27am	Drew Cole	S	Questionable	Ankle	Sophomore FS Drew Cole has missed two straight games with an ankle injury and is questionable for the Tennessee game. Cole sustained the injury during Auburn's SEC opener against Mississippi State. Cole's absence, combined with the preseason injuries to Aairon Savage and Mike McNeil, thins out the Auburn defensive back rotation.
10/03	7:26am	Michael McNeil	DB	Doubtful	Leg	Junior Mike McNeil has been rehabbing from a broken leg suffered during fall preaseson camp and has missed the entire season to date (four games). He is doubtful for the Tennessee game. Freshman Daren Bates has stepped up in McNeil's absence.
09/19	3:05am	Montez Billings	WR	Out For Year	Left team	Senior WR Montez Billings left the team to pursue other opportunities. Billings has already graduated from Auburn University. As the leading returning receiver (24 receptions, 227 receiving yards in 2008), Billings was expected to start again this season and vie for the top receiver slot. His departure leaves a giant hole at WR that needs to be replaced immediately.
08/26	6:27am	Rudy Odom	G	Out For Year	Left team	Senior RG Rudy Odom left the team for the second time this year. The No. 2 RG on the depth chart played in two games last season while struggling through various injuries.
08/22	12:04pm	Aairon Savage	DB	Out For Year	Achilles	Projected starter Aairon Savage tore his Achilles and is out for the season.
08/09	5:45pm	Christian Thompson	S	Out For Year	Left Team	Sophomore safety Thompson has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Thompson played in 10 games in 2008 as a true freshman logging one tackle. He played a bigger role during the spring with starters Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil limited by injuries.

The reigning MAC Frosh of the Year suffered the injury on the second play of the week three game at Army. Baker is doubtful to play vs. Toledo this weekend. Senior Kyle Kuntz replaced Baker in the starting lineup. Sophomores Josh Howard and Kyle Hoke also saw an increase in playing time.
09/22	2:19pm	Seth White	WR	Out For Year	Collarbone	White broke his collarbone in the first half against Army and is done for the 2009 season. The injury requires surgery. White started the first two games of the season and was second on the team in receptions going into week three.
09/08	1:52am	Madaris Grant	TE	Out For Year	Knee	Grant tore his ACL in the first quarter of the season opener and will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks. The senior and team captain will petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility. After Thursday's loss, HC Parrish said Grant was the one player he couldn't afford to lose. Grant's replacement has not been determined. Sophomore Ryan Hartke, who had never played the position before, filled in Thursday night but was called for a holding penalty that nullified a Ball State touchdown. Freshman Zane Fakes, a converted running back, will compete with Hartke for the starting job.
08/13	2:07am	Derrick Henry	S	Out For Year	Academics	Junior Derrick Henry was expected to provide depth in the Cardinals' secondary but is not with the team because of what coach Stan Parrish termed "academic issues" encountered during the spring semester. Henry finished 2008 with 42 tackles, but he had only 12 in the final seven games. While unable to play regularly on defense, he was regarded as a key performer on special teams.

Baylor Bears Next game: Baylor at Oklahoma on 10/10

10/03	6:18am	Blake Szymanski	QB	Probable	Shoulder	Szymanski, who is Baylor's starting QB with sophomore Robert Griffin out for the season, suffered a bruised shoulder in week four's win over Northwestern State but is probable to play on Oct. 3 against Kent State. X-Rays were negative and the senior is officially being considered day-to-day by HC Art Briles. It is not known who would start at QB for the Bears if Szymanski is unable to play. Nick Florence is listed as the #3 QB, but its also possible the Bears burn the redshirt of talented freshman Brody Trahan.
10/03	6:18am	Jay Finley	RB	Probable	Ankle	Starting halfback Finley did not play on Sept. 26 against Northwestern State but is probable to return on Oct. 3 against Kent State. The star runner had 121 yards and a TD against UConn before leaving injured. Terrence Ganaway would continue to be the featured back if Finley's outlook dims.
09/28	8:22am	Robert Griffin	QB	Out For Year	Knee	Griffin suffered a torn ACL in week four's win over Northwestern State and will not play again this season. The talented sophomore was initially injured on the first drive of the game when his leg bent awkwardly as he was tackled, but Griffin remained in the game until halftime with his knee heavily wrapped before being removed for good. Griffin was responsible for 28 total touchdowns as a freshman in 2008 and considered the Bears best hope of making a bowl game in 2009. Senior Blake Szymanski, who was the starting QB before Griffin arrived on campus, is slated to take over the starting spot.
09/28	8:21am	Mikail Baker	DB	Out For Year	Knee	Baker is out for the season after tearing his ACL in week four against Northwestern State. The senior defensive back sees action in nickle and dime packages, but perhaps his biggest contributions come on special teams, where he is the Bears top kick returner.
09/21	7:49am	Antareis Bryan	CB	Out	Foot	Starting CB Bryan, the most experienced member of the Bears secondary, is out 6-8 weeks after breaking a bone in his foot during week three's match-up with UConn. Bryan will replaced by the tandem of Clifton Odom and Mikail Baker.

Atkinson was arrested in July on a DUI charge after a car accident. He also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Sophomores Billy Winn and Chase Baker appear to be at the top of the depth chart.
09/27	8:06pm	Greg Grimes	DT	Questionable	Leg	RS freshman DT Greg Grimes has been out the past month with a leg injury. The position was thin to begin with as talented defensive tackle Michael Atkinson has been suspended following a DUI arrest. Boise State still has two excellent, explosive and aggressive defensive tackles - Chase Baker and Billy Winn - but no proven performers behind them.
09/26	8:31am	DJ Harper	RB	Out	Knee	Harper likely will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee in week three. He has scored the most points (222) of any player in Buffalo's history and ranks fifth in all-purpose yardage with 3,830 yards. In his absence, junior Brandon Thermilus will start. Thermilus rushed 100 times for 454 yards and seven touchdowns as a backup last season.

The injury that bothered Oghobaase was a re-aggravation of the injury the All-ACC defensive tackle suffered prior to the Kansas game. Oghobaase led Duke with six sacks in 2008.

Jackson sustained an injury to the Lisfranc joint of the top of his foot during preseason camp. The No. 1 MLB ranked third on the team in 2008 with 61 tackles (35 solo). Jackson, last year's ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, did not appear in a game this season. He will likely apply for a sixth year of elibigility because he has already used his redshirt year.

No other details were provided. Last season, Bennett played in 11 games totaling 30 tackles (22 solo and eight assists). He also had 2 1/2 tackles for loss and one interception returned for 78 yards. He ranked No.2 at free safety on the depth chart before the suspension.

The sophomore had competed with junior Zac Lee for the starting job during the spring before injuring the knee. This injury is a big loss for the Cornhuskers considering the lack of experience behind Lee. It likely means that heralded freshman Cody Green will be ticketed for duty with the team this season and probably has killed any hopes of redshirting him. The Cornhuskers also have converted linebacker Latravis Washington and freshmen Ron Kellogg Jr. and Taylor Martinez in camp.

Castille had been battling for the starting RB position, but Roy Helu seems to have solidified that role with this announcement. RS freshmen Collins Okafor and Lester Ward will be relied upon to backup Helu.

Pianalto suffered the injury during North Carolina's game against UConn on Sept 12. Pianalto is coming off one of his best games, with seven receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown against the Huskies.
10/02	11:20am	Lowell Dyer	C	Out	Shoulder	Senior center Lowell Dyer missed the Sept 12 game against Connecticut because of a shoulder injury. He is out for at least three more weeks,and his status will be updated at that time. Dyer made eight starts at center in 2008. In Dyer's absence, sophomore Cam Holland will fill in at center.
10/02	11:19am	Jonathan Cooper	G	Questionable	Ankle	Redshirt freshman LG Jonathan Cooper is battling an ankle injury that forced him to miss the Georgia Tech game. His status for Virginia is questionable. Cooper sat out of the UConn game (Sept 12) with the injury but returned against ECU (Sept 19). Greg Elleby is filling in for Cooper.
10/02	11:19am	Joshua Adams	WR	Questionable	Shoulder	True freshman WR Joshua Adams is battling a shoulder injury that kept him out of the Georgia Tech game. His status for the Virginia game is questionable. Adams is filling in for the injured Dwight Jones, though he was projected to be a starter heading into fall preseason camp. Adams is one of three impressive true freshman receivers for the Tar Heels (Jheranie Boyd and Erik Highsmith are the others).
10/02	10:48am	Trevor Stuart	LS	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Junior LS Trevor Stuart will miss the rest of the 2009 season with a torn ACL he suffered against ECU. Replacing him will be former walk-on Mark House.
10/02	10:45am	Anthony Elzy	FB	Questionable	Shoulder	Junior FB Anthony Elzy is questionable for the UVA game with a shoulder injury. Elzy is the No. 2 FB on the roster behind senior Bobby Rome. Elzy has made five starts in his career to date.
08/28	8:03am	Carl Gaskins	T	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Sophomore LT Carl Gaskins will miss the 2009 season with an ACL tear in his left knee. The reserve's injury leaves UNC's offensive line rotation thin. He will be replaced in the rotation by fellow sophomore Kevin Bryant
08/19	6:08pm	Matt Merletti	DB	Out For Year	Knee	Junior DB Matt Merletti tore the ACL in his right knee during Tuesday afternoon's practice and will miss the 2009 season. One of Carolina's top special-teams players, Merletti was competing for playing time at safety this fall. In 2008, he was a co-captain on special teams, an honor bestowed on UNC's top special-teams players based on a point system. Merletti had 11 tackles last year and recovered two fumbles.
08/10	5:58pm	Aaron Stahl	OL	Out For Year	Not Returning	Left guard and center Aaron Stahl graduated in May and has decided not to return for the 2009 season. The competition to replace him in the starting lineup will come down to a sophomore returning from injury and didn't play most of 2008, a redshirt freshman and two offensive lineman recruits.

10/03	6:10am	Owen Spencer	WR	Probable	Concussion	Junior WR Owen Spencer missed the Pitt game on Sept 26 due to a concussion he suffered against Gardner-Webb (Sept 19). His status for the Wake Forest game is probable. He will be replaced by reserve WR TJ Graham. Spencer was the leading receiver for the Wolfpack in 2008 with 691 receiving yards on 31 receptions and five touchdowns.

He is out for the Wake Forest game. Smith is the No. 1 LCB on the depth chart. Former starter DeAndre Morgan is expected to take Smith's place in the starting line-up against Pitt.
10/02	11:18am	Jeff Rieskamp	DE	Out	Hip	Sophomore DE Jeff Rieskamp missed the first four games of the season with a hip injury. He is out for the Wake Forest game. Rieskamp, the No. 2 DE on the depth chart behind senior Willie Young, made two starts in 2008 despite playing a reserve role for most of the season.
