01/05 8:13am Austin Box LB Probable Knee The starting MLB has been upgraded and is expected to play in the national championship. He sprained his knee 11/29 @ Oklahoma St. and missed the Big 12 Championship. Mike Balogun started in his place and will likely continue to see some time in the championship game as Box is not quite 100%.
12/18 9:24am DeMarcus Granger DT Out For Year Back Granger had back surgery and will miss the National Championship. The valuable backup has 20 tackles.
12/17 9:47am DeMarco Murray RB Out For Year Hamstring Murray will have surgery on the hamstring he injured in the Big 12 Championship and will miss the National Championship. The Sooners will now have to rely much more heavily on Chris Brown now rather than their usual tandem which used Murray and Brown almost equally. The two finished the season with a combined over 2000 yards and 34 TD's.
12/16 10:13am Sam Bradford QB Probable Thumb The Heisman winner will play but tore ligaments in his non-throwing thumb 11/29 @ Oklahoma St. had surgery after the Big 12 Championship. The injury led to 2 fumbles on snaps and forced him to play out of the shotgun in the 2nd half of the Oklahoma St. game but didn't create any big problems against Missouri.
10/12 8:00am Ryan Reynolds LB Out For Year Knee Reynolds went down in the 3rd quarter of 10/11 vs. Texas with a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. The inside linebacker was second on the team in tackling and Oklahoma's defense struggled late in the game without him. Sophomore Brandon Crow replaced him in the game but redshirt freshman Austin Box may be used in the future.
09/03 7:16pm John Williams DE Out For Year Personal Williams was granted a 6th year of eligibility but coach Stoops announced he has left the team permanently. Williams did start 3 games for the Sooners in 2007.

The preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year had made 27 tackles this season including nine for loss while compiling 4.5 sacks.  He was replaced in the starting lineup by Frank Alexander.

11/23 6:40am Manuel Johnson WR Probable Elbow Johnson has played sparingly the past 3 weeks. He said he was at 80% coming into 11/22 vs. Texas Tech and has just 2 catches since the injury but the more recent was a 66 yard TD. He dislocated his elbow 10/18 vs. Kansas and missed 10/25 @ Kansas St. He is 2nd on the team with 653 receiving yards but the Sooners have depth with 4 receivers over 500 yards.

10/19 7:15am Manuel Johnson WR Questionable Elbow Johnson left 10/18 vs. Kansas early in the 1st quarter with a dislocated elbow and did not return. He was seen on the sideline with the elbow wrapped and immobilized after returning from the locker room. Johnson came into the game as Oklahoma's leader in receptions and receiving yards and touchdowns. Juaquin Iglesias stepped up big with Johnson out, grabbing 12 catches for 191 yards to pass Johnson for the team lead in receptions and receiving yards.

10/05 1:29pm Jon Cooper C Probable Knee Cooper had his knee wrapped after the 10/4 win at Baylor.  He said he was fine after the game.  He is counted on to make the calls and the offensive line and is backed up by 270 lb freshman Jason Hannan.
10/05 1:21pm Gerald McCoy DT Probable Toe McCoy injured his toe 10/4 at Baylor and did not return.  The injury does not seem to be serious and he could have come back in the game if needed.  McCoy is a key part of the defense as he constantly draws doubl teams.  OU already lost DT DeMarcus Granger to an injury as well. 
10/05 1:15pm Branndon Braxton OT Questionable Undisclosed Braxton left the 9/27 game vs TCU and did not return. Although not a starter Braxton plays significantly as the top backup at the T position.  He did not play 10/4 at Baylor.

10/01 4:48pm Branndon Braxton OT Probable Undisclosed Braxton left the 9/27 game vs TCU and did not return. Although not a starter Braxton plays significantly as the top backup at the T position.  Coach Stoops said he expects Braxton to be available 10/4 at Baylor, he is upgraded to probable.
