Next game: Oregon at Washington on 10/24
|
| 10/09 | 10:21am | LaMichael James | RB | Probable | Ankle | After carrying the ball 13 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns vs. Wazzu in week five, it was found out that James suffered an ankle injury in the first half. He said he feels fine heading in the UCLA weekend. | | 10/09 | 10:17am | CE Kaiser | OL | Doubtful | Shin | Kaiser suffered an injury to his shin vs. Wazzu and will be limited, at best, for the road trip to UCLA. HC Kelly describes most injuries as day-to-day so the starting right tackle is likely to miss some practice time this week. If Kaiser is not ready to play UCLA look for NaDerris Ward to take over the starting job. | | 10/09 | 10:16am | Jeremiah Masoli | QB | Probable | Knee | Masoli was on the sideline in the second half of the week five game vs. Wazzu with an ice pack on his knee but has already been proclaimed as probable for the road trip to UCLA. Nate Costa is likely to start the game but Masoli will probably play as well. | | 10/09 | 10:15am | Riley Showalter | LB | Out | Finger | Showalter missed the game vs. Wazzu with a finger injury and has been ruled 'out' for UCLA. The senior is a standout on special teams. | | 10/08 | 11:21am | Kenjon Barner | RB/PR | Questionable | Shoulder | Barner missed some practice time this week due to an injured shoulder and is questionable to play at UCLA. Barner took over punt returns when Thurmond was lost for the season. | | 10/08 | 11:15am | Rory Cavaille | WR | Probable | Shoulder | Senior Rory Cavaille missed the first five games of the season due to a shoulder injury but has been upgraded to probable for UCLA. Cavaille was projected as an opening day starter but will now have to work his way up the depth chart for playing time. | | 10/07 | 1:12pm | T.J. Ward | S | Probable | Ankle | Ward suffered an ankle injury in the season opener at Boise State. The senior returned to practice last week but did not enter the game vs. Wazzu. RS freshman John Boyett stepped in for Ward during the season opener and started the past four games. Boyett's play has at least provided the Ducks the luxury of not needing to rush Ward back. Ward has been upgraded to probable for the road trip to UCLA. | | 10/07 | 1:10pm | Willie Glasper | CB | Out For Year | Knee | Glasper will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury suffered in practice this week. Having earned a starting role in the absence of Walter Thurmond, the senior recorded 11 tackles in five games and two passes deflected. Sophomore Anthony Gildon is most likely the next in line to start at corner. | | 10/02 | 10:24am | LeGarrette Blount | RB | Out | Suspension | Blount's collegiate career may not be over after all. He had been suspended for the remainder of the season after sucker-punching Boise State DE Bryon Hout after the game ended. Blount will have an opportunity to be reinstated to the program later this season, provided he continues to follow a plan set in place after the first game. Blount rushed for 1,002 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns last season. Speedy RS freshman LaMichael James has taken over and has a couple of 100-yard games in his last two starts. | | 09/30 | 10:13am | Walter Thurmond III | CB | Out For Year | Knee | Thurmond injured his right knee on the opening kickoff Saturday vs. Cal. An MRI revealed that senior tore all three ligaments in his knee and he will require season-ending surgery. Senior Willie Glasper replaced Thurmond and filled in so capably that linebacker Spencer Paysinger said he didn't know Thurmond had been injured until halftime. True freshman Cliff Harris and RS freshman Kenjon Barner both took turns in Tuesday's practice at Thurmond's vacated position. | | 08/10 | 6:18pm | Dominic Glover | DE | Out For Year | Academics | Sophomore Dominic Glover is no longer with the team due to academic issues. He did not play in 2008 and was listed as a No.3 defensive end on the 2009 depth chart. | | 08/10 | 6:16pm | Daniel Padilla | K | Out For Year | Transfer | Buried on the depth chart and passed by Morgan Flint last year, Daniel Padilla has decided to transfer. | | 08/07 | 11:52pm | Braxton Lane | WR | Out For Year | Not Enrolling | Lane would have instantly become the Ducks fastest player on the field but has decided to play baseball, signing a contract with the Texas Rangers. He decided to focus on baseball his senior year in high school and has not played football in a year. | | 08/07 | 11:48pm | Aaron Pflugrad | WR | Out For Year | Transfer | Aaron followed his father's footsteps off the Eugene campus and has decided to transfer to Arizona State. He was projected to be a No. 1 receiver for the Ducks but will now sit out 2009. Robin Pflugrad, Aaron's dad, was an assistant coach with Oregon from 2006 to 2008. | | 08/07 | 11:40pm | Chris Harper | WR | Out For Year | Transfer | Harper has decided to transfer to a school closer to home (Kansas) citing homesickness as the main reason. He was Oregon's backup slot receiver coming out of spring drills and was also used situationally at running back and quarterback. He was also in the running to return kicks this fall. | | 08/07 | 11:36pm | Justin Roper | QB | Out For Year | Transfer | Oregon granted Roper his release in late May and the QB says he will play at Montana this season. He started Oregon's first three games a year ago before suffering a knee injury that forced him to miss the next four games. Roper was not satisfied after spring drills when he emerged as starter Jeremiah Masoli's backup. |

Next game: Utah at Oregon on 09/19 |
| 09/12 | 9:39am | DeWitt Stuckey | LB | Questionable | Knee | Sophomore DeWitt Stuckey has been sidelined with a knee problem and did not even travel for the season opener. He is questionable for week two vs. Purdue. Stuckey is expected to be a top reserve for the Ducks in 2009. Junior LB Spencer Paysinger says, "We have eight strong, fast linebackers that can come in and play different positions" so depth does not seem to be an issue. |
| 09/10 | 2:56pm | Rory Cavaille | WR | Out | Shoulder | Senior Rory Cavaille missed the BSU game due to a shoulder injury and HC Kelly has already ruled him 'out' for week 2. Cavaille is listed as a reserve receiver on the depth chart. |
| 09/09 | 10:28pm | Charlie Carmichael | OL | Doubtful | Foot | Sophomore lineman Charlie Carmichael had his left foot in a walking boot after suffering an injury in a scrimmage. No indication of the seriousness of the injury but he did not enter the season opening game vs. BSU and is doubtful for week two vs. Purdue. Carmichael appears as the backup at one of the guard positions on two different depth charts. |
| 09/09 | 10:27pm | T.J. Ward | S | Doubtful | Ankle | Ward suffered an ankle injury at Boise State and has been downgraded to doubtful for week two vs. Purdue. The senior could not put any weight on his ankle when he was helped off the field. RS freshman John Boyett stepped in for Ward and finished the game but it is possible the Ducks will shuffle their secondary if Ward cannot go. One of the rovers, Javes Lewis or Marvin Johnson, could shift over. |
| 09/04 | 7:53pm | Tyrece Gaines | WR | Questionable | Knee | Projected backup receiver Tyrece Gaines had arthroscopic knee surgery on his knee a few weeks ago and had been slowed early in fall camp. He returned to full speed at practice and was upgraded to probable for the season opener but did not enter the game. He is listed as a No. 2 receiver behind USC transfer Jamere Holland. |
| 09/04 | 7:39pm | LeGarrette Blount | RB | Out For Year | Suspension | Blount's collegiate career has come to an untimely end as he has been suspended for the remainder of the season after sucker-punching Boise State DE Bryon Hout following the Ducks' loss last night. Blount rushed for 1,002 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns last season. RS freshman LaMichael James is listed as the No. 2 tailback on the depth chart. After Blount, junior Remene Alston ranks highest among returning running backs in carries last year. Alston should be in the mix now as well. |
