Defensive Coordinator and associate head coach George Barlow will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Barlow is in his 21st season as a collegiate assistant.

Expect University of Illinois transfers Reggie Ellis and Ugo Uzodinma to be the recipients of more playing time.

08/055:38pmOmar CastilloDE Out For Year DismissedCastillo was dismissed back in May for unspecified reasons. The junior transferred to NM from Texas Tech and was seemingly buried on the depth chart anyway. However, the defense has thinned considerably with the departure of several linemen.

Tarean made two starts last year and played in seven games total while completing 44 passes out of 90 attempts (49%).
