| 09/16 | 12:00am | Davon Moreland | LB |  Out For Year | Academics | Moreland was ruled academically ineligible prior to the season opener and will not play football this fall. The true freshman was arguably SMU's top recruit this past off-season and was supposed to compete for a starting job.

| 10/25 | 7:57pm | Darius Johnson | WR |  Probable | Ribs | Johnson left the last game with bruised ribs but should be ready to play at Tulsa. The junior has been leading the team in receiving this year. Both Johnson and Cole Beasley are were averaging over 100 yards per game heading into week eight.

| 10/12 | 8:31pm | Keenan Holman | WR | Probable | Ankle | Holman missed the last two games after spraining an ankle vs. Northwestern State. In the first three games, the sophomore recorded four catches for 99 yards and one TD. RS freshman Der'rikk Thompson was in the starting lineup and was second on the team with six catches for 104 yards in the 42-0 romp at Memphis. Holman has returned to practice and is expected to play vs. UCF.

The senior was able to get healthy during the bye week and is upgraded to probable for UCF. He was the team's leading receiver from last year (87 receptions, 1060 yards, 6 TDs) and through the first four games this year was leading the team with 31 receptions while averaging 94.0 ypg.

| 10/12 | 8:15pm | Darius Johnson | WR | Probable | Knee | Johnson has been playing through a knee injury and used the bye week to rest. The junior now leads the team with 39 receptions for 550 yards and four TDs. He was the main target at TCU while Beasley was unable to play. Johnson is upgraded to probable for UCF.

The senior ranked third on the team last year with 92 tackles and has 18 tackles in three games played this year. Banjo was replaced in the starting lineup last game by Jay Scott who only recorded one tackle.

| 09/10 | 1:56am | Blake McJunkin | C | Doubtful | Ankle | McJunkin sprained an ankle in the season opener and was still in a walking boot Thursday. The senior is doubtful for Saturday, and Coach Jones said it appears senior Bryce Tennison will replace McJunkin in the starting lineup.

| 09/08 | 2:12am | JJ McDermott | QB |  Starter | None | McDermott relieved starting QB Kyle Padron after Padron was pulled for throwing two INTs on the team's first two series of the season opener. Coach June Jones announced Tuesday that McDermott, a senior, will start Saturday's tilt with UTEP. Kind of shocking as Padron only threw for 3,828 yards and 31 TDs last year.
