10/1511:35pmMarcus LattimoreRB Out For Year KneeLattimore will be out the rest of the season after injuring his left knee in the Mississippi State game.  Coach Steve Spurrier said the sophomore had a torn ligament and cartilage damage in his left knee and will undergo surgery in the near future.  Big blow to the Gamecocks.  Lattimore has 163 carries on the season for 818 yards and 10 TD's.  Next highest is freshman Brandon Wilds with 13 carries for 75 yards.  Spurrier said that Wilds will likely be the starter in the next game.
10/1112:43pmStephen GarciaQB Out For Year DismissedGarcia has been dismissed from the team after failing a drug test this week.  The senior started 34 games in his SC career, including 4 this season.  Garcia was benched last week in favor of sophomore Connor Shaw.  With Garcia gone, the Gamecocks are left with backups that have yet to play college football.

10/2111:31pmKenny MilesRB Questionable WristMiles has been hampered lately with a wrist injury.  The junior has been the backup to star running back Marcus Lattimore.  He has one carry on the year.  He missed the last two games.

10/1211:00pmMarty MarkettCB Questionable ConcussionMarkett suffered a concussion during the Kentucky game.  The senior hasn't been able to practice this week and isn't sure if he will be cleared in time for the game this Saturday.  The Gamecocks have a bye after this week so Coach Spurrier might rest Markett.

10/0511:27pmMelvin IngramDE Questionable FootIngram sprained his left foot during the Auburn game.  The senior is in a walking boot and coach Steve Spurrier has said that Ingram is day to day.  The medical staff has yet to clear him and will be a game time decision.  Ingram won't be practicing this week.  Ingram won the SEC Defensive Player of the Week last week with his performance against Auburn.
10/041:29pmConnor ShawQB Starter NoneShaw will return to the starting position when the Gamecocks take on Kentucky.  Coach Steve Spurrier announced today that he is going with the sophomore and benching senior Stephen Garcia.  Shaw started week 1 but played poorly and Garcia took over at halftime of that game.

09/081:26amAndrew CliffordQB Out ConcussionClifford will be out 2 -3 weeks because of a concussion he suffered while riding a moped.  The third string QB will be fine according to Coach Steve Spurrier.

A week later, coach Spurrier reinstated him after Hampton signed a "conduct contract". The RS freshman is projected to be the No. 2 CB backing up starter Stephon Gilmore.  He has yet to see any game action this season but coach Spurrier has hinted that Hampton will be available for the Vanderbilt game on Sept. 24.
09/1912:18amCody GibsonOT Doubtful KneeGibson suffered a knee sprain last month. The freshman took a medical redshirt last year and will be re-evaluated on a week-to-week basis. If healthy, Gibson may be the first backup tackle behind the starting seniors.  Gibson hasn't played this season and is doubtful for week 4.

09/0912:28amStephen GarciaQB Starter NoneGarcia was named the starter for week 2 against Georgia.  After coming off the bench in the season opener, the senior was named the starter this week by coach Steve Spurrier.  The benching last week ended Garcia's streak of 28 consecutive starts.  Last week's starter Connor Shaw was 3 of 9 for 21 yards and the Gamecocks were down 17-0 before Garcia came in during the 2nd qtr.  USC ended up winning the game 56-37 against East Carolina.  Garcia was 7-15, 110 yards and 1 TD.  He also ran five times for 56 yards and 2 TD's.   
09/081:18amDeVonte HollomanLB Probable SuspensionHolloman was suspended for the season opener for his June arrest on a DUI charge.  The junior finished third on the team in tackles last season with 69.  He will be available to play on Saturday at Georgia.

08/251:12amJadeveon ClowneyDE Probable AnkleClowney suffered a left ankle/foot sprain during practice Tuesday.  The freshman and nation's top high school recruit had a visible limp but was walking under his own power back to the lockers with the medical staff.  Coach Steve Spurrier confirmed that the doctors don't think it's anything too serious.
